A very useful product for anyone who wants to convert old vhs tapes into DVD. It can also be used for watching and recording Tv on laptop or desktop. You have to just connect the composite out of set top box to composite in of the easycap through AV cable. Installation is also very easy. For VHS to DVD conversion it’s a must product while for HD recording lot of high quality capture cards are available but they are very expensive so in my opinion this product is good for those who just want to convert Vhs to DVD or just want to watch tv in laptop and don’t care about the HD quality this product will be value for money

The product was damaged and was in used condition, it did not work, don't buy this.

Picture quality is poor as it is not as shown on tv... Easy of use is no where as i had to download 3rd party software to use this stick... Value for money is good as it gets the job done... But i wish it had good picture quality.

Was able to convert my tape drives to digital format at ease.I am having an old Sony handy-cam that uses tape drives; I was unsuccessful in converting that to digital format as the software provided by Sony for that handy-cam requires windows XP or lower version of windows to get installed. I have tried virtual PC, running the installer in compatibility mode and what not but still the PC wouldn't recognize my device. Finally I found this converter and thought would give it a try.To my surprise the converter worked and I was able to convert my videos to digital format and was able to save it in my PC/mobile.the only drawback which i felt was that it had max 720p picture quality rendering but that was more than enough for my handy-cam videos.P.S., I have used win 10 os PC for conversion and filmora to capture video.

It is a good device. I was able to find this device after lots of research. I have also gone through the reviews where everyone has suggested not to use the software provided. But I suggest you to use the given software as it is very simple to use. I have also tried different capturing softwares but the quality is same for all the softwares. So, it is a very good device for capturing videos from old vcr or Handycam using miniDV cassettes.

It is easy to use - just install the program that came on the CD. The picture quality is good but not of the same quality as if one were to connect the handycam directly to the TV. The audio is quite clear.One can record about 20 minutes at a time.It is easy to set up - just connect your handycam and start capturing the video.There is only one problem which I am not able to figure out - a tape run of 15 minutes is captured as 11 to 12 minutes video.You can definitely go for this product - it enables you to transfer your Hi8 tapes into digital videos.
