Will it support BIOS and one time boot menu?
This review is for the JideTech HDMI to VGA Converter with 3.5mm Audio Supports 1080P for PC Laptop Display Computer Mac ProjectorIt is not endorsed, paid or otherwise a compensated review. I bought and paid for this thing myself.I just got this thing today. I couldn't wait to try it out. The big question is will it support 640 x 480 and 600 x 800?These resolutions are commonly used for your BIOS Set-Up, and One Time boot menu (not to mention your splash screen). If you look at the passive adapters. or the HDMI to VGA cables, they don't pass these resolutions. While they do work great for viewing Windows on a legacy VGA monitor, you won't be able to get into your one time boot menu or BIOS. (Disclaimer--Actually you can get into them, you just can't see them).Well, glad to say I plugged this in and it does!So that's why you buy this. I paid $32.00 and I may just get another one for the lab. This thing is a winner. And as far as I can tell it is a one-of-a-kind product. I did see an Industrial Enterprise box somewhere, which was something like this for about $600.At 600 x 800 clear and bright. At 640 x 480 a usable image with flickering, but that could be my monitor. No complaints, still usable.I currently have, on my monitors, a DP to VGA cable on one, a HDMI to VGA adapter on another, and I am going to keep this thing around because it overcomes the scaling hurdle of these other adapters.JideTech, you did it!

Works like a charm!
I learned something... Just because you buy a VGA to HDMI cable to use a PC with a flatscreen TV, it doesn't mean it's just going to work like a monitor and a PC. Apparently monitors are designed to work with PCs so buying a two-way cable to adapted video feed works. My Flatscreen TV however, could not find the signal when switching to HDMI 1. That's when I figured I needed some kind of special converter and went browsing on Amazon. The JideTech 1080P VGA to HDMI Converter work great!Easy to setup and use and comes with screw holes so you can mount this to your wall/tv if need be.The only question now is, how long will it last... I guess I'll find out.

Works seamlessly
Works right out of the box. I was able to use both the native resolution and refresh rate of my VGA monitor. The display name even shows up on windows instead of the name of the adapter. If you're strapped for cash, this plus a VGA monitor from goodwill are pretty great for a secondary display.

Great little switch
This was an awesome product! I use two towers and this switch helped me so I can use the same two monitors and not always have to replug in new ones.

Successfully converts VGA signal in both text and graphical modes
I have a legacy device that only has VGA output, that I needed to connect to a PiKVM (specifically, to an available port on a PiKVM Switch Extender). It needed to function both in VGA graphics modes, as well as text modes, such as being able to access the system BIOS. This adaptor successfully converts the VGA signal to HDMI and allows me to access the device through the PiKVM. It's not flawless - for example it doesn't successfully convert the video mode used by the Grub bootloader (as shown in the third screenshot). However, it gives me everything that I need to administer the device.

Works totally transparently, including perfectly sync'd audio.
I was pleasantly surprised with this unit. I have it connected between an Amazon Firestick HD 4k, and an old Epson Powerlite 4300. The 4300 is a big, loud, very bright projector, and still I love it, and with the converter, its 10x more useful. I've looked and looked, and haven't seen a single artifact. No tearing, no weird ripples, etc. Any time I've gone "aha!" and thought I found something, its the source material, as verified on normal LCD TV's and computer. I am next going to put an HDMI switch on it, and a PS4, and a NVIDIA Shield Pro, as well as a DVD player. I'll write another review after I study those sources on this converter. I recommend it!

This could not keep up with the data stream from google Chromecast
This could not keep up with the data stream from google Chromecast going to a 15 pin sub-D VGA connector -- RGB into a Pioneer 50 inch plasma screen. It freezes the video stream every few seconds momentarily and the the audio drops out as well.
