Just what I've been looking for.
This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. It connected to my home WiFi easily and now I can turn the water heater on and off from anywhere my Android phone can get the internet. When we leave for a few days we can turn it off as we leave and turn it on when we are a couple hours out and we come home to hot water and a reduced electric bill. Not sure why others said it didn't work with android phones. I use a Galaxy S22 ultra with the latest OS updates. Works flawlessly. DEFINATELY RECOMMEND.

Does it actually work
1-2-25 Could not get the WiFi to setup no matter the steps I took and per the instructions. O yes the instructions, per their support, they really don't pertain to this specific unit. You will never get the quick blue light flashing when you attempt to connect. ( knowing that is helpful you think)As an IT person, this just chaps my hide. Yes, I know how to turn off the 5hz antenna, yes I know how to setup a router. No, the CD player is not made to hold my coffee cup.The other suggestion from support was for me to make a video and send it to them.SUGGESTION: why don't you as a company make one and send to me how this unit ( this specific unit) is connected to the WiFi. Post it on YouTube for the rest of the world to see. O. update your instructions to reflect the actual behavior of this unit. Humm

Just what I needed!!
Quick and easy install. Works great. Now can keep an eye out for any issues via security camera and turn on and off as necessary.

Better than expected
the build quality, the ease of hard install coupled with the WiFi range of operation - all top notch... Only issue (I almost took a star for this) was the instructions... Mostly from the stand point of setting up the device specific to programming. Several questions arose but only by experimenting and observing outcomes did I feel secure in the "soft" setup... I believe the device has many other features serving as a hub and could control several other devices but the instructions are just lacking... I would still suggest considering this unit to control a POOL PUMP and just know you might need to experiment or observe that the set up meets your intended need. Allow 24 hours to observe full cycle of programming to feel confident that you got it right.. (NOTE: this is now controlling my Pentair 2.5hp pump 220VAC)

Works...but beware...a power failure leaves the system off when power returns.(Load is off)
The media could not be loaded. Overall, the system works. I used the switch/timer for my hot water heater. I did have to upgrade my wifi extender to better cover the garage where the switch is located but this was no fault of the switch/timer.My only complaint is that if the power is interrupted, the switch is in the off state when the power returns. (The load is off after the power is restored.) This can be a real issue for people with load controllers on their home (energy management systems) or areas with intermittent power failures. (If you don't manually turn on your water heater after loss of power/restoration, you will have no heated water when the power returns.) I wrote the customer service people at DEWENWILS. They answered in just a few hours (good job) with a few line response saying there was no way to have the system come up in the "load on" state. They suggested that I should put in a number of "timer on" events to eventually turn the hot water heater back on after a power failure. However, I have found a way to force the switch to turn the load on after a power failure and power restoration. The trick is to use the "circulate" mode to turn the switch back on. Let me give you an example. I want my water heater to be off after 9:30 pm. I then want the water heater to turn back on at 4:30 am and then to stay on until 9:29 pm. I do this by setting an off event in the "schedule" mode at 9:30 pm (as expected). Then I turn the water heater on using the "circulate" mode with a cycle time of "4:30am on and 9:29pm off. The start duration is 16h 58m and the end duration is 0h 1m. This means that the system can't be off for longer then one minute. Once the circulate cycle starts, the hot water heater will always turn back on after no more then a minute, once power is restored! (I have tested this multiple time using the circuit breaker to cut power and then turn the power back on.)Quite honestly, after I realized how will this worked, I wondered why the customer support team at DEWENWILS didn't suggest it. (Maybe it was just too easy to send back a quick note to the customer and be done?)I gave them four stars because they should either tell people about this issue or suggest a solution.
