Perfect smart lock upgrade for a renter
Installed in minutes and works flawlessly. Auto-lock/unlock is super convenient, and it integrates perfectly with my smart home. Love the sleek design and easy app control. Highly recommend for anyone looking to modernize their front door!

Works with home assistant.
I purchased 3 of these to work with home assistant. I am using a esp32 Bluetooth proxy to control these. Be sure to set them up with the WiFi hub first so that the key can transfer to the account. Then you can set it up with the august or Yale integration and remove the wifi hub. Works great!

Getting my funds back
The media could not be loaded. I'm not saying it is a bad device. I am just saying it does not install on my door

My 2nd August Yale lock
Great lock. Easy to install and remove, if needed. Software is intuitive. Easy to invite guests with cell number and remove them when access no longer needed. I’ve been using this same lock at a rental property for about 4 years with no issues. With the wireless bridge you can control remotely. Can connect to Alexa and Google home, if you want. I love the auto-unlock and auto-lock features (only for owners). You walk up to door and without opening app, the door unlocks, then re-locks at a user-defined time period, if you want. Not particularly noisy when locking and unlocking door. You need a smoothly operating deadbolt before installing (no catching or pulling door to lock and unlock).4/15/25 both are still working great !!

SmartLock with security flaw
The media could not be loaded. Update after 2 months: No feedback or software firmware update from /August/Yale to address the issue. The lock still tries to force a locking state, stop midway, and tell you the door is securely locked... when it is unlocked and the space is accessible.Pros- Easy Installation: Setting up the Yale/August deadbolt lock is a breeze, even for tech novices. The guide is helpful, clear, and concise, with step-by-step video aids.- Remote Access: Control your lock from anywhere using your smartphone or -watch.- Voice Control: Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant etc. for hands-free operation.- Smart Home Integration: Works seamlessly with your smart home systems.- Stylish Design: Complements modern home aesthetics perfectly.Cons:- Locking Mechanism Issue: In certain conditions, the deadbolt may not align correctly, causing the lock to malfunction and falsely indicate that the door is secured. Despite its many advantages, the lock has a critical security flaw that could compromise your home's safety. Here's my personal experience:The installation was smooth sailing with clear and concise instructions. The app guided me through each step with helpful video aids, and it worked seamlessly with my smart home system—until I came home to a door wide open. With a new front door and door frame in winter, things were shifting. When the deadbolt misaligned, the lock attempted to secure the door repeatedly, only to stop midway and falsely report it as locked. Thankfully, when we returned to an open door, everyone was safe, including our pets. However, this incident left me unable to rely solely on the lock when I am not at home. I always ensure to lock the door manually now and set up additional cameras to be sure. Until this issue is resolved, it might be wise to explore other options. After all, peace of mind... my home is my castle...

Easy to install
After looking at reviews I was hesitant to order, but it was really easy to install and set up. Works great so far. The instructions are on the app and pretty detailed. Not sure why a lot of the other reviews say it is so difficult to set up. I plan to purchase a few more.

Why is Zero Stars not an Option?
How can anyone claim this is “easy to install” when there is not a single bit of instructions provided? No words anywhere except the word “Yale” stamped on things. No pieces of paper in the box (other than a long blue sticker). Nothing. I looked on the web, and it said to try the app, but the app needs a barcode that is definitely NOT in the box.
