Great for the canal
Virtually silent - I use it with the Seahawk 2. Ive had 2 adults and 2 small kids in the inflatable and the pushes us along at about 5mph which is the speed limit for the canal anyway. With a decent leisure battery (Ive got a 120Ah) I have had 3 hours of fun and used about just 20% of the power in the battery (Varying speeds between 3 to 5 ). Only thing which is a bit useless is the battery charge indicator but thats down to the physics of batteries. After 90 mins non stop use, it will show the battery nearly empty but stop for a break for an hour (i.e. pub) and when you come back the charge indicator is on full again. I have worked out power usage by timing our trips and then seeing how much charge goes back into the battery. Its really easy to adjust the height of the motor with a single clip (ie adjust how deep into the water it goes), and likewise to tilt the motor flat with another clip when mooring. Feels very solid and the the handle tilts up \ down and extends easily. There is a 2(ish) second break in power between changing speeds which doesnt cause any problems so long as you are aware of it. Anyone new to it thinks theyve done something wrong, look round then the power kicks in and you crash into the bank ! The 2 reverse gears work fine too to get out of trouble. The leads to the battery supply have crocodile clips which work fine although the lead isnt very long so the battery has to be right at the back of the inflatable. If you're on your own in an inflatable with the battery, motor and you at the back, the boat sticks out of the water at 30 degrees. I suppose I could easily make an extension lead for it.Havent tried the motor again since last summer and its been sitting outside in the garage all winter so hope its ok.All the other stuff in the information is correct. Like the de-weeder button which spins the motor back and forth getting quicker and quicker. I havent had to use that, although I did get a fishermans line tangled in it. After disconnecting the power, the propellor spins freely so after 10 minutes of manual intervention all the line eventually came away and it was fine. Normally when I see people fishing I adjust the trolling motor height which is really easy and takes about 5 seconds.Would recommend this item but do your homework on your boat and the power\speed you need if you're on flowing water. You aren't going to get any speed up for water skiing or up river against any significant current !

Great Motor
Excellent build quality, easy to set up and install to boat adjustment of shaft easy. Does cut out on and off when battery charge level drops but on 100ah battery ran for over 2.5 hours with no problem. I'm sure no matter what make they will all be effected by that.

First trip out. Without issues 👌🏻
The media could not be loaded. Motor did everything it was supposed to, out of the water it was cutting out after a few seconds, but having checked the manual, this is a safety feature while out of the water, battery indicator isn't accurate so will need to test my new 70ah battery over long period of time so I know how long it will last. Very happy 😊

Good motor with some small improvements
Good little motor I got this to go with the excursion 5 boat. The only thing that can be better is the lead to connect it to the battery could be a foot or two longer - at the moment it is stretched and that is with the battery right at the back of the boat.

It does not work
I was excited to receive this product and to see how well it performed as it was intended for use on a family holiday.I read and followed the instructions carefully and it seemed to work okay for just a few minutes, but then it just stopped dead! I quickly turned it off and I carefully checked for any problems, e.g. reeds in the propeller, correct height etc., and found nothing obvious wrong. I switched it on again it it seemed to immediately activate 'top gear', and no other setting, and stop dead again after about 30 seconds. Repeated re-tries brought the same result.I contacted the seller 'Funky Crab' (expecting a refund or replacement), but they told me to contact Intex, which I did, just in case it was an easily resolvable problem. I've now made four calls to Intex and left several messages, but the person I'm advised to speak to is always 'away from their desk right now' and hasn't replied to any of my messages.Fed up with this I have contacted Funky Crab again requesting refund/replacement and I await to hear from them.We are pretty disappointed and upset as a family because we had planned to use the motor with our boat on holiday and this is now nearing it's end.

it works and works very well
it works and works very well, I have this motor on my 14ft fibre glass cabin cruiser for about 2 months now on the avon river, it will push my boat along at a fast walking pace no problems as for the motor cutting out I had this same problem using a small 75amp car battery, but this just not big as soon as the power of your battery goes below 10volts it will cut out wait for a while and of you go again for a while then same again. you need a 110amp leisure caravan battery I have no problems now in fact I can get about 2 hours use on using 4/5 speed, or all day long using a 100w solar panel sun permitting in fact I have had no problems that others have reported

Not that powerful
Fitted it to my mirror dingy for getting me back down the river when the winds not going to. My spare car battery wouldn't last five mins at speed setting 4 so bought a 70a marine battery but it still wont work on top speed setting 5 and not long on 4. Struggles against any sort of current. Use it mostly to turn the boat into the wind. Think I'd go small petrol next time.
