GPO 746 Push-Button 1970s-style Retro Landline Phone - Curly Cord Authentic Bell Ring - Black

I’d read many other reviews that seemed very mixed, let me lend my experience. This is a lovely phone that delivers a smack of nostalgia. Is it as good as the original -NO! It’s lighter, it’s not as well finished and feels slightly plastic - BUT - I don’t tend to walk around with a phone connected to the wall! Sat on a side board it looks fantastic, the sound is great, the little ping before it rings, it takes me back to my childhood. We went for this push button as it is so much easier for my young children in the event of emergency, it still looks great. I really do recon this phone, I am a very satisfied customer.

Lovely to use a comfortable handset! If you like to chat for hours-this is the phone for you. The voice volume is a bit loud and not adjustable but thats a minor niggle. The old style ringer can be heard all over the house (a comforting sound from my childhood : ) Another great thing is that it requires no power supply to work. I live in an older house, and people visiting assume this phone has always been in the house (until they see the push buttons!) Will shortly buy another, in a less business-like colour for upstairs.

Sound quality rubbish very low even with volume turned up.

I really like this phone - I like the fact that it looks so nice and works well. The convenience of push button is great and you can hardly tell it isn't dial. The two annoyances is that it is not hugely loud - so have it on max - which is OK. Related - the vol control does not take it a notch higher. Overall, however, I am really really pleased I bought this and thought it great value ...

Well made, looks the part, only considaration if your buying is the volume of the phone when it’s ringing isn’t the loudest, when set at full volume, but overall good.

Nice looking but it does not ring when you call it

Ok. It’s not the heavy brick we had when we grew up in the 70’s But it looks and sounds the same. The volume of the old school ring tone is loud enough to take you back to the hippy days of recording the top 40 on a Sunday. Only complaint is you cannot turn the volume up on the ear piece ........ might just be me and my age !!!! Overall......... love it....... PS.......... you can’t tap out the numbers like you did back in the day when your mum and dad put a lock on the house phone

Limited functions but ok if you want a basic phone
