Measuring trees!
It works. It is sturdy. Clear instructions. Reasonable price. I am measuring my trees.

Excellent device.
I bought this out of interest to measure the heights of trees as I do a lot of forestry work. It was relatively cheap and could be used for other measurement such as the pitch of a roof or framing.I tried it on a huge Elm tree that had died from Dutch Elm Disease. I set the machine at 45 degrees and walked back from the tree until the pointers lined up to the top of the tree. Because a right angled triangle with sides at 45 degrees must have an equal base and height, I knew that my distance from the tree would be the same as its height.I had some very sceptical felling contractors when I told them it worked out at 64 feet high. So we had some bets and when it came down it turned out that I was wrong as it was only 63 feet high! But I did win several pints, unfortunately no pubs to drink them in!

Does the job
Why did you choose this product over others?:PriceQuality:It's plastic - but good enough to do the job. Which for my purpose is to check line of site for setting up the freestanding satelitte dish on the caravan. Find out what the inclination should be for the dish, point it in the right direction to just above any obstacles, press the trigger to let it read. Release the trigger and have a look at the number. If its less than the inclination value then you have clear line of sight for the dish

Children will find it useful and easy to use

good, but tricky to use precisely
good device, bit plasticky, tricky to use as you have to freeze the swinging of the disc under gravity, but works is used carefully
