The Electric Sermon on the Mount of Bugs
Dateline: A Back Patio, Under the Looming Threat of a Summer Night. The night air should be a source of peace, a cool balm after a long, hot day. But it is not. It is a hunting ground. A thick, humming, whining soup of winged degenerates whose sole purpose in this world is to bite, sting, and generally torment the human race. You can swat, you can spray, but these are acts of desperation. To truly reclaim your territory, you need to set a trap. A brutal, high-voltage, electric chair for bugs.Enter the GOOTOP Bug Zapper. This is not some gentle, sticky trap or polite, scented candle. This is a black, caged instrument of pure, unadulterated electrocution. It is a lantern that promises not gentle light, but swift, crackling judgment. The setup is a thing of beautiful simplicity. You hang it, you plug it in. The deed is done. But here, in the modern age, we can add a layer of sophisticated, remote-controlled cruelty. I have mine wired into a Wyze smart plug, a tiny digital brain that has tethered this primitive death machine to my Alexa ecosystem. I can now sit back in my chair, a cold drink in my hand, and with a simple voice command—"Alexa, summon the lightning"—unleash the blue light of doom upon my backyard. And the light… it is a thing to behold. A hypnotic, otherworldly UV glow that flying insects find utterly, fatally irresistible. They are drawn to it like moths to a flame, a phrase that has never been more appropriate. They flutter in, lured by the promise of some strange, electric paradise. And then you hear it. The sound. The glorious, soul-satisfying CRACK-sizzle-POP!It is the sound of 4200 volts delivering an immediate and uncompromising verdict. A mosquito, a fly, a moth—one moment a whining nuisance, the next a tiny puff of incinerated vapor. It is a savage symphony of retribution, a constant, percussive reminder that your perimeter is secure. It is the perfect companion for a summer night, a brutal but effective guardian against the winged hordes. The value here is immense. For a modest sum, you get a powerful, effective killing machine. And the true genius? The bulb is a common, replaceable size. This isn't some disposable piece of junk destined for the landfill after one season. This instrument of death is built to last. This is more than a bug zapper. It's an essential tool for summer survival. It’s a highly effective, strangely satisfying, and ridiculously affordable way to take back the night. Highly recommended.

No More Bugs!
Last year, when I attempted to eat on my deck, I spent the entire time shooing away flies. If I left , I would have to put a napkin over my food to avoid insects feasting on it. The Bug Zapper has made my time on my deck enjoyable. I can sit and read, eat, or chill, all without swatting at bugs!Yes, you have to get used to the sound of bugs being zapped, but I can live with it. I sit the Zapper on my deck box, but I think I will get a hook to hang it on. Great product!

This thing is a miracle!!!
I wish I could give this thing 10 stars. I bought this for use indoors. Not sure if it can even be used indoors but I do not care. Usually around this time we are drowning in flies in our kitchen. We live in the country and no matter what we do, they get in. There's usually a couple dozen flying around in my kitchen...no matter how obsessively I clean. We've been dealing with this for almost 7 years. Now because of this thing...We. Have. No. Flies. This thing has reduced the number in the house to basically ZERO, and now it just goes off every now and then on whatever fly was brave enough to enter the house. I am amazed at how well it works. Seriously the best thing I've bought all year.Bought another one for our camper just now!

Entertaining, cost efficient, easy to mount bug zapper reminiscent of the 1980s
If you are looking for the reminiscent bug zapper of the 80s, this one has that perfect audible snap much like thatof yesteryear. It is extremely lightweight so you can mount it with something as simple as a 3-M Command Strip. The cleanout is super simple with a twist & a click. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of its size. The power cord weighs just as much or more than the unit itself so it pulls it off-center. It’s awesome, just not an exact modern day replica as it is much smaller. If you do not care about the aforementioned size and only want the snap of the zap, this one’s for you!! Extremely lightweight and I imagine will last a long, long time.

Low Cost and Very Effective
This product works very well in our backyard. As you can see from the photo, I hung it on an outside wall using another product from Amazon, RTZEN Plant Hangers. I used one of the hanging loops to attach the Gootop Bug Zapper and inverted and mounted the other RTZEN hanger to accommodate two bungee cords (Horusdy 31 Piece) attached underneath the Bug Zapper to keep it from slamming into the wall from the high winds we sometimes have. Also, I purchased the Amazon Basics Outdoor Smart Plug and programmed a routine that turns on the plug with the zapper 1 hour before sunset and turns it off at 1:00 am. The zapper works great and we have not had the bugs and mosquitoes we typically have from living adjacent to a greenbelt. I recommend all three of these Amazon products!

So glad I purchase will by another one
I live on 2 aces of land and I have a nagging bug problem. I like to sit outside when the temperature is nice. However , I get a lot of bugs in my kitchen they come throuht the exhaust fan I guess. I read the reviews on this product so I purchased it.I was sitting in my kitchen and saw a big wasp come from behind my stove. I took this out the box and placed it on my counter. All I heard was a lot of action & zapping going on in my kitchen great purchase.
