Q: Can I use this on things that get hot like toasters and kettles?

I use mine for kettle steamer and air purifier.. delighted with it

Q: Exactly how wide in mm is the plug on this?

The plug is a ordinary UK 3 pin 13 amp plug with an attachment with 4 sockets which takes 3 pin 13 amp plugs. The box with the 4 sockets is 114 mm x 114 mm the whole thing has 4 sockets and 1 plug. I use it to take the plugs for the Sky Q box, the Sky Hub, a DVD player and a radio. Hope this is helpful.

Q: how long is the item from the top of the plug to the base of the extension? I only have 20 cms to the worktop

Unfortunately the photo I took will not upload but I have 20.5 cm from top of plug to worktop. I think there will be enough ‘give’ in the wire to allow it to fit. This extension is the neatest extension solution I have found and so have now got three of them. Hope this helps.
