Q: Washed these in cold water before using and they worked fine; used once and washed again they do not absorb as well and leak! How should I wash them?

I haven't bought these yet, but if your detergent has any fabric conditioners in it, it'll affect absorbency even if you don't use a fabric softener sheet in the dryer. You can try washing them with vinegar, or with baking soda and salt, which can strip the fabric conditioners out. Also, some cities put softeners in their water if it's too mineral-heavy, which can have the same effect even if you don't use any yourself.

Q: Those that own these and thinx, how does the sizing compare? I’m a medium in thinx hiphugger

I have both and am also a medium in Thinx hiphugger. Thinx's are somewhat prettier but they both work the same way, and Thinx is more than twice the cost.

Q: How many uses can I get from these panties before I need to replace them?

I am replacing mine for the first time. Four years of use.

Likely it will hold that amount. With my endometriosis, I'm losing about 4 oz a day, about 120-140 ml a day, so I change mine mid-day as a precaution.
