The Beadsmith Square Kumihimo Disk, 6 inch Diameter, 3/8” Thick Dense Foam, Jewelry Tools for Braiding, 1 disks

I used this 3/8" kumihimo disk for the first time and was amazed by its durability. When I made a braided kumihimo bracelet, I realized this old Japanese craft was easier than expected, but will take a lot of practice to master this skill.

What can I say this is a great tool for making braided cords. The description is exact. If you have not used it I would say go one step further and watch it on YouTube, I tell you I was like a child on Saturday morning getting a good fix on cartoons non-stop. I purchased this one and the square one and then a 3rd that was a kit that had the thread holders in it so basically this review is the same for all three as each of the Kumihimo (round and square) perform the braiding technique however the square one takes it just a few steps more when braiding. Again, best thing to do is watch them in action and THAT will make your decision for you. I am hooked and loving it while for me it shuts out the world and puts me in a "zen-like" state while creating.

This was clearly designed by people who actually do braiding. It is made perfectly for ease of use, light weight, but robust to last for a while.

This product is exactly what I needed to produce flat Kumihimo braids. Already using and enjoying it! Well made.

Still learning how to use this disk but the quality of the materials that it is made of, I'm sure it is going to take a lot of use over the years. The design and size are excellent and contributes to this being an excellent tool. I had purchased the round disk and found it to be of quality materials so I was confident in ordering this square disk. I was not disappointed.
