it works
So easy to use why buy pies when you can make two in minutes , use just roll pastry, there is a cutter comes with the pie maker, cuts a lid and the base, fill with a can of beef or chicken one can will do two pies, seal tops with water on a pastry brush push down lid, 15 minutes you have pies,

Great pie maker, but has issues.
This pie maker works well. However, the case is not sealed and the grease from cooking the pies leaks down into the base of the unit. There seems to have been some sort of attempt at making grease traps, but even if these DID trap all the grease, there's no way of actually emptying them without taking the unit apart. As you can see by the photos, after just four uses, a significant amount of grease had leaked into the base, where one of the heating elements is. This would eventually build up to a point where it would get considerably hot, which isn't good. In addition, where the hinge is, there is already visible wear on the heatproof sleeving around the cable. This is obviously a weak point which needs addressing. Yes I've invalidated my warranty to show these photos, but I think folks thinking of buying one of these need to know the issues. The sad thing is, 50p worth of silicone gaskets and a bit of thought with the cable routing would have made this little unit perfect - so near, yet so far. I'm going to seal this one with some high temperature silicone, sort the wiring out and hopefully make some more pies. Please take note of my points though.

Perfect
This is amazing, does exactly what it says, nice deep filled pies with Homemade pastry, they taste so much better than the shop! I put the pie maker on for 10 minutes before use, lightly brushed over with sunflower oil, added pastry base and filling, added top, cooked for 15 minutes, they came out perfect, the only downside is that you have to tip the pie maker over to get the pies out, but that's no real issue. The thicker the pastry used, the longer they will take to cook, roll the pastry thin, but not too thin, the cutter that comes with it is the perfect size for base and lid, definitely recommend this pie maker.

Easy to use
I bought this having watched Gok use his. I read the reviews good and bad, read the advice and then decided to make my pies. I have to say that using the machine from cold made placing the pasty in easy. Since I had not preheated the pie maker, I took the advice that suggested 20 minutes cooking was optium, they were right. I also took the advice about lightly greasing the holder and lid parts to make it easy to get the pies out. After 20 minutes I lifted the lid, unplugged the pie maker and turned it on its side. The pies popped out perfectly cooked. Do remember that the filling has to be cooked and hot before filling the pastry, also not overfilling is a must. The family was very pleased with the results, even the hubs who was highly skeptical and I am most pleased with my purchase.

Brilliant!
Shortcrust pastry for the base, chicken in a thick creamy sauce for the filling & puff pastry lid. 8 minutes cooking time….absolutely fab! Would definitely recommend. I’ve made muffins in it too but I think I should’ve put more of the mix in to get them a bit bigger but they tasted great! Easy to clean, non-stick and just perfect for 2 of us….
