Super easy setup, great app, really does work from inside a metal fridge. Alerts work well.
Setup:Setup could not be easier.1. Install app,2. setup hub3. add sensor(s).4. Update Firmware. To make the hub setup quick and easy it's best to connect the hub to your router with an ethernet cable. The instructions have you scan a barcode on the hub using the app to register it, then power it up. It came online within a few seconds. WiFi can then be setup while it is connected via ethernet cable. If you wish to use WiFi power off and relocate the hub. It takes about 30 seconds to join WiFi after being powered up.Adding the sensor(s) is similar. Scan the barcode on the device with the app, then turn it on using a switch on the back of the unit. It will connect to the hub quickly. It is best to configure all the alerts and other settings while you have the sensor on a desk, then when the configuration is complete place the sensor where it is needed. Both the hub and sensor had the latest firmware as delivered which is awesome.Use:The LCD's still work even at freezer temperatures of -5f. The batteries in the LCD sensors will not last very long in a freezer. maybe 9 months, I have ordered some sensors that do not have an LCD and come with Lithium batteries good for 5 years.I'm really impressed how well the sensors work inside a freezer clear the other side of the house from the hub. It lives up to the hype. Sensors contact the hub about once per minute.App:The app is very good, there are some really detailed statistics you can view and there is an option to download data. I have included a screen shot of one of the charts showing a 24 hour view,Alerts:After setting thresholds, alerts can be sent via the app on your phone, an email, or SMS. SMS is limited to 15 SMS's per month but email works just fine and has no limit.Yolink Eco system:The number and variety of devices you can add to the hub is impressive. Given how easily the system and app works I'll be adding devices in the future.Highly recommended.

Great Product
Great for remote monitoring. So easy to setup, just plugged hub into our router. Did not even use the Wifi that is optional. Instant access to temperatures wherever you are.

More Than Just Fantastic Temp Monitoring - Home Automation Too!
I was looking for something to monitor the temps of the refrigerator and freezers following a 12 hour power outage. Obviously I needed something which didn't require opening the fridge door. (My modem and router are on UPS's.) Also, another friend was gone for 4 days and his main refrigerator stopped working. The ice melted, the freezer contents melted and he had to move out of his house for the repairs.I found these YoLink products and thought I'd give them a try because their claim is a longer range (even through things like metal refers and freezers), WAY more range than typical devices, and minimal battery usage. They're are RIGHT! These things work through my metal refrigerators and through the metal on the chest freezer. I now have accurate reporting AND the ability to set parameters for alerts. In digging more into YoLink, I found they are a US based company. They also have home automation devices that also share long range connections.I have many home automation devices on my SmartThings hub (Zigbee and Z Wave). I bought a few YoLink outlets to see how they performed.I had connectivity to the YoLink outlets over 800' away in our barn!! They didn't quite reach the street 1400' away though. I'd love to have full automation all the way to the street for holiday decorations and more. I found YoLink can have more than one hub on the same network so I bought a hub for my barn. Bam! Works!! (The barn has a long range WiFi antenna which picks up the house's WiFi.)This is a brief recap. Hope it helps. Their devices are less expensive versus Zigbee or Z Wave devices. Although I have not dug into elaborate programming yet (like doing things when you arrive home or leave or temp/weather related automations), it appears this cold be a viable, better and cheaper replacement for ZigBee and Z Wave automation devices.Hope this helps everyone!

Monitoring made Easy
I bought these to keep track of our garage freezer temps and our basement freezer temps in the event our power goes out or someone doesn't close the door all the way. They have worked well and keep me informed when the temps reach a certain degree. Easy set up and can be monitored on your phone from anywhere.

Damn is this good!
Previously I've searched for freezer monitors after a freezer full of food died. And the built-in alarm died with it. Well, this connects the sensors on something else, not Wifi or BT, into a tiny hub that just into any router. You download a fast smartphone app, and then scan a qr code on each device. They configure themselves! You can set temperature range alarms, and get alerts by SMS and email to your devices. And the system can add home alarms, more sensors, alarm sirens, all sorts of things. The LCD readout on each sensor can be read by itself, and the displays don't crack or freeze. You get to read a temp and humidity chart for each sensor. You can see how self-defrost really changes the temperature, and proof that a FULL freezer keeps a much steadier temperature.I'm in love with this thing. So simple to set up (if you look at the instructions) and such great information and performance.I'd actually give it SIX STARS if I could, and I'm a hard customer to please.

Excellent device
After losing a couple of freezers and alot of $ in ruined meat, I decided to give this a try. TOTALLY worth the investment. Easy set up. And it send me text messages if the temperature starts to rise in my freezers (based on temps you choose!). $50 insurance policy! Woo hoo
