Can you set the voltage that you want to use? I have a similar load with same rating, but it only runs at 5V, even on 45W power supplies.
used tester once now when i connect it to a battery bank, the screen turns on, then off. i sent an email to support but no reply! how do you reset??
Can I get a certificat fir this device? Thank you in advance!
Does it display amp or watt hours?

I have several load testers... this is the most useful.

I am the Mr. Fixit for my family and many friends. This is one of several load testers that I own and use for testing batteries, cables, power supplies, and devices which use USB. Because this tester not only does load tests but detects the various USB protocols and can trigger the voltage being used... it is more useful for me than any of the rest. It is also a very compact design. If you have any type of problem this company has excellent customer support as well.

works great when it worked! *REPLACMENT IS GREAT*

This device worked great until it didn't. Some of the reviews say it has no "memory" however my issue is now the amp setting is stuck in its "memory" my device is stuck at 5.35A and I can't lower it no matter what I try to do. I don't see any memory reset option or factory reset. It appears another person had the same issue. I've emailed support we will see if and when they reply.**UPDATE**I reached out to UCTRONICS and they sent me a brand-new device that came in 2 days! This one is working great so far! Changed my review from 3-5.

Quality control issue maybe?

I may know why so many have failed. I quickly noticed the TIP122 single bipolar resistor is screwed to the heatsink with no thermal interface material.... The chip was hot and the heatsink gets like warm. I put some overkill PC thermal paste on it and the chip is at much more reasonable temperatures. Mine came with bare minimum instructions. My 100watt type C pd charger supports QC2.0+3.0, AFC, and FCP, but I can't do more than 5V over type C. I feel like. All higher Voltages must be done in the screw terminal block. Fan does cycle on and off depending on amp draw settings. What the instructions don't tell you is once you hit 1.5 amps or more, the fan will go to an always on state. It's fine the noise isn't that bad. Instructions say it cannot trigger PD protocol .Overall this device is ok. I do like that the LCD screen is removable. Unplugging the fan/ removing the heatsink is easier. I like it's just 2 screws holding on the heatsink.I DONT like the poor little chip didn't get any thermal compound. What is a little half rice side drop too much? I would of paid the extra cents in cost in the already reasonable price.......

Not just a load, it's also a tester

This is a great device for testing USB power supplies and sources directly, or can be coupled with something like the FNIRSI FNB58 if you want to gather more data. I have run into a few cases, particularly with failing power supplies, where this device will at least show you what's happening even if the device is so far gone it can't properly power something like the FNIRSI - they make a pretty good pair.

Cannot use for battery pack testing, as memory is lost when battery pack turns off.

Title explains this mod. And it also provides a bottom insulator that should be included. Thus tester works to 4V and then turns off. So testing a 5V USB battery pack is a problem unless you sit and watch for hours! When the pack shuts down this module looses the mAh & Wh data. The controller on it runs at 3.3V, so I added a LiPo battery that feeds the controller through a diode and switch. When ON the controller gets 3.7 - 0.7 = 3-3.1V. That is enough to run the display and keep the data alive after the battery has died. The display flashes LVP when the test port is empty, so you still have to plug in another pack to read the data, but it works. To bat the designers didnt use the flash memory to hold data that is likely in the PIC or AVR they lasered the labels off from!

Never could get it to do anything.

Turns on, allows me to begin adjusting settings, then just powers off randomly. I have never been able to use it. I have not attempted to return it because it sat on my shelf for several months before I needed it.

Love this little tool!

For simple USB 5v testing this guy is great! You can simply turn the dial to the specified amperage and you're on your way.I have found that when I try to test PD sources it's not nearly as simple or straight forward. It can be done but a simple solution has not presented itself to me. Much of that is because that's what I normally do so I haven't played with it enough to figure it out.I would buy this again!
