My dog never chews anything except his toys - except for my key to my new e63s! From Mercedes, the required a whole new key. the key was fine, just this back piece was completely destroyed. so i ordered this back cover. i still have another cover perfectly intact. if there is a difference between the two, it is hard to tell! I had my first set ordered and a neighbor got it by accident and i did not get it for a while (happens a bit) so i ordered another. the second set looked wrong. when i finally got the original set - it looks perfect. the original set i ordered is the black glossy plastic with a polished metal amg emblem (all silver). the second set had a black metal with silver emblem. the original is all silver. that is the only thing i found strange. make sure you get the all silver emblem.

i have no clue how my battery cover fell off. glad i was able to get this replacement here instead of stealership. the round emblem is not held on well, i had to epoxy it on there after it fell off. other than that, i am very happy with this piece. i think they could have improved by using a textured black instead of this shiny black plastic. scratches show easily and there is no way you are going to be able to prevent that.not sure why amazon asks for stars for 'thickness" but it seems same thickness as the oem cover

This replacement is obviously not oem which isnt a problem in itslef but when i installed it i noticed that the black finish is a shiny glossy black that doesnt match the matte front and gives it a cheap look. I swapped back to the oem blank black one

This did not snap in or fit my fob. Also has a cheap, plasticy feel, but its not expensive, so thats expected.

Initially I was disappointed that only one of my AMG keys came with the AMG emblem on them. Found this product on amazon and decided to give it a shot. When I first attempted to install the cover it refused to fit, I probably gave it 20 or more tries with brute force to get it to fit. Good news with that attempt was that none of the tabs that hold it in place broke. After closer inspection i noticed the front two tabs that go into the front of the key to hold it in place were not raised enough (they were pointing downward, might have happened from my forceful attempts) so I took a pocket knife and slowly raised the tabbed up slightly so they aligned to the keys cover slots.That did the trick and the key looks just like the original key fob that you would get from the dealership. So while its definitely not easy to put on, it is a quality product, it also gets micro abrasions easily like any shiny gloss plastic would.

I don’t know why but I completely love this thing. Bought 2, 1 for each key. I’m actually mad at Mercedes for not including this with original equipment. AMG car should have a key that is a little more flash than standard. Fit is perfect, quality is very professional.
