Q: I've used laxatone for my older for years. it must work, no hairballs, is it safe for my maine coon 9 month old? what's in cat lax?

Cat lax works well, my cat (now RIP) had virtually no hairballs when I had her on cat lax two daily. Cod liver oil, caramel, lecithin, malt syrup, white petrolatum, vitamin E, preservative, water. Should be okay for 9 month old cat, have a similar product says not before 6 months, but my 5 month old semi long haired kitten is getting hairballs and every time I've asked on here, my discussion has been deleted. So I've been giving it to her anyway, and she has been fine. Oh, and my previous cat died at the ripe old age of 16, and not from hairballs, so it must work well as she was long haired and an extreme groomer.

Jane, My 19 Y/O had always pooped in the box except when I would go out of town - then she would leave one poop somewhere - usually my bed - to show what she thought of me. We have moved around the country multiple times in the last 10 years due to various reasons. In our new house ( 3 years in Feb) she has decided to NOT poop in the box although fortunately she continues to pee there. Now she is having issues pooping and I use a cat laxative and massage under her for 15 minutes or more at bedtime - you will be able to feel the spot. The laxative does help her poop but has not changed her habits. Mine eat both dry and canned food. At 11 years mostly dry. I have found the cat laxatives I have used helpful in helping my cat go - they have not made her have runny poop or go in places she wasn't going to prior to use.
