Liverpool in the 1950s (Britain in Old Photographs (History Press))

A great little book for a trip down Memory Lane, it includes lots of lovely photos of past Liverpool covering all areas of the city. I bought it for my elderly father who has dementia and he’s enjoyed looking at the photos together.

A great little book which splits the book into areas of Liverpool.

Excellent book full of pictures that portray the era in all its post war glory and deprivation. Every child of the fifties will remember the sights in this book and its not to be missed! Playing on bombsites (bombies), nobody worried about health and safety then - except that if you got in bother you'd know about it! Is it a better place now? Maybe yes, maybe no! Its certainly different but whether kids have as much fun now I don't know, and adults seemed happier with their lot as well! The cover picture is well chosen, and sums the period up in Liverpool in one photograph. Worth every penny!

Bought as a gift for my 90 year old mother. I can’t tell you how many times I see her sitting with it, poring over the pictures and reminiscing about her youth, growing up in Liverpool. She absolutely loves this book!
