Bought for my child. Great, but bit heavy
**Bike D-Lock Review**This is a very strong and sturdy D-lock, offering great security for the price. It feels solid and well-built, making it a reliable choice for locking up a bike in high-theft areas. However, it is quite heavy, which might be a downside for some riders. That said, the durability and protection make it worth it if you don’t mind the extra weight.

Nice D Lock and cable - works nice together!
Quality D Lock, nice engineered key and precision made. Good Keyhole cover and well built lock. The additional cable is nice to have and helps those awkward times when your D lock just isn't long enough to secure the bike, and then cable can snake through rails and the bike stand to add that extra protection and security - Nice! Good solid design!

Fantastic lock - intimidating to thieves
Recently had my bike attacked by thieves and the only parts that were left behind were the frame and handlebars - the ones protected by this lock. Its mere presence seems to be enough of a deterent to put off thieves from stealing the secured parts. So now I just need to make sure that I remember to use the cable to secure the wheels and I might have a chance of keeping the whole bike next time!

Good strong lock, slide fixing into the mount need reveiwing as it makes things difficult
Pros:Very heavy and therefore presumably as strong and secure as it looks.7/10 (70/100)/ Sold Secure Gold security level means it should be good at keeping you bike secure.Mount prevents lock shaking and rattling when riding over bumpy surfaces, but overall design could be better (see cons).Comes with a 1.2m steel cable (not security rated). Some people have commented that is too short but it seems to be a standard length for all locks that come with them I have seen. If you are trying to put both eyes onto the lock then it is too short (by a lock without a cable and a 2m cable), however if you thread one eye through the other around one wheel and pull it through it is just long enough to thread through the other wheel (necessary if both are quick release) and put the other end into the lock (see image) although a slightly longer 1.5m cable would make it a little easier.Cons:The following assumes that my bike is a typical size and shape for an adult medium hybrid…This size lock is both too short and narrow to go around the frame a post and through a wheel, limiting me to securing around the top bar only. Some locks have an insert and rotate (either lock or collar) 90 degree method of attaching the lock to the mount, this one slides in. Because of this the only place it would mount leaving just enough room to avoid the frame both after insertion and to remove it with my hand around the lock was the underside of the top bar (see images), even then there was barely enough room so it was just as well I did not get a bigger one. This may be a pariticular issue with the size/shape of my frame, however I do suggest the manufacture look at a non sliding method of attaching the lock to the bike, if the lock was any bigger or the inside of the frame any smaller I would never have been able to mount it on the bike and I suspect that I may not be the only person to encounter this.

Good size, secure lock
This is my 3rd kryptonite lock, I'm happy with it. The cable is handy (though can be cut of course) for places where you can't get a good locking position but ideally it's there to protect your wheels and you should try to lock the *frame* to something solid. (Side note: I passed a front wheel locked to a railing the other day where they'd used a similar cable to hold the (now stolen) rest of the bike. DO NOT DO THAT! :))It's one of the smaller locks, which means a lighter lock but not TOO small, it's IMO just right if you want a lighter D lock. I've also a small abus 640 (which is a great lock as well), this one is just that little larger though which just make a bit of a difference in certain situations.I've noticed it can seem a bit fiddly to lock BUT it's because it LOOKS like I've closed it properly, but I haven't and it's my fault, you just need to be careful to get it seated correctly, and not panic and try and force the key!

Includes one year insurance on the lock
The media could not be loaded. I consider this a great lock. It has a really good price to value ratio. The lock is safe since it will require some pretty heavy machinery to cut it off.The bike carry ad-on makes it really easy to transport it around. The included flex cable is useful to secure other parts of the bike like the wheels. The ends are in O, which mean you can loop it and use it in all it's length. It also comes with a velcro so you can tie it to the Ulock while in transit. It comes with three keys, one of each has a built in led light so you can spot the keyhole in the dark.It also offers one year insurance for your bike, the only catch is that they only pay if the lock is violated, the flex cable is not covered. You can also extend the insurance beyond the included 1 year for a fee.Downsides so far are the rubbery rings that serve as cushion on the locking mechanism sometimes may come out when jiggling the lock on a pole. The key sometimes doesn't turn immediately and you have to jiggle it ever so slightly to turn.Do recommend.

Robust bike lock
This is a very robust cycle lock and meets my insurance requirements for a pedal assistant e-bike.Pvc coverings stop bike getting scratched, quite heavy so not ideal to transport when using bike

Kryptonite evolution…
Bought this lock not as a replacement but as an addition to the kryptonite lock I have had for over 30 years. The quality and value for money has improved and with new features too.Decided to stick with kryptonite as I needed a lock that I could lock up my new bike frame nt and rear wheel also to the frame and bike stand, this came with a the flexible cable so was a no brainer.Cheaper here than my LBS chain.
