Works as designed - looks to be well made and sturdy

I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase. Having had a lot of previous cord issues I decided to wait on doing a review until I'd had the cord for a while to see how it lasted and I can now say months later I couldn't be happier with my purchase.The cords themselves are very strong and durable, it's obvious I'm not going to have the problem I've had with all my other ones where the plastic coating ends up breaking near the connector. It's also nice and long and the biggest plus is the connector end fits in my tablet nice and tight. I was a little worried buying one off of amazon as you always hear how they are not reliable for these types of cords, but this is the nicest one I've owned. The plastic housing around my original cord broke and frayed near the connector as most of these cords tend to do with use and Samsung no longer sells the charging cords for their tablets. I've tried buying more expensive "brand name" ones from the electronics store and they just didn't fit well in my Note Pro 12 tablet, they were always loose and after a short time became so loose they wouldn't charge at all. I was worried after reading online that a lot of people were having this problem and having tried numerous cords were blaming it on the tablet saying the problem was with the actual charging port on the tablet, that it was flawed. I was really getting concerned that I wasn't going to be able to keep charging my tablet at all and was going to be stuck with an expensive paperweight.This cord however fit in to the charging port on the tablet nice and tight and after using it for several months now it hasn't loosened up at all, it still fits as tight as it did the day I got it. After using this cord it's become obvious to me that the problem isn't the Samsung port but the poor quality of most of the cords out there and those blaming it on the port just hadn't tried this one. If you've had problems with cords fitting into your device too loosely or are tired of your cords breaking and fraying I would definitely recommend these and I would buy them again.

I bought this cable for my Samsung Galaxy S5 because my original, 4-year old cable would not connect via Android Auto to my new car. My old cable had a number of cracks in the sheath so figured it was a cable problem. The new cable seems to charge my phone faster than the old cable and the braided sheath looks like it will be quite durable. However, with the new cable I can connect to my new car via Android Auto but it is an intermittent connection. Seems like the micro USB connection to the phone has some play and although it has no problem providing power to the phone the data side of the connection doesn't remain consistently connected.I had noticed a few reviews that seemed to indicate that this connection was a little sloppy and that is the problem I'm experiencing.So, in summary. If you are looking for a good cable to provide reliable power to your Galaxy S5 then this one will perform well. However, if you are looking to use it for an Android Auto connection to a car you may be disappointed.

Love this braided USB Micro Cable. Great to have a long cable with the short one for backup. Had recently purchased a charging cable from Verizon for my Samsung Galaxy 5 and with only the small connector on the end of the cable, it was not secure enough in my phone to charge. These braided cables have both the small and large connector together on one end so that both plug into my phone at the same time as the original Samsung cable did. It provides a very snug connection and charges as it should. Purchasers just need to provide the wall plug in end and insert the USB cable into it. I expect the braided cord to last longer than original and very happy to find a replacement that works. Great value for the money.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 that is now about 5 years old. The original charger cord died, and starting last year I've tapped both eBay and Amazon to find a replacement. The ones I've received (three, from two different sources) were of such poor quality that they literally died after about three weeks of use. I was delighted to find this product, it looks like it will go the distance!! Made of heavy cording and all-metal, and well-bound ends, it is strong and clearly durable. The most vulnerable part of the old cords was the connection between the cord itself and the metal tip that plugs into the phone; with routine use it flexed and flexed until it broke. Unlike those, this one is so well constructed that that connection point between cord and metal plug doesn't flex at all, it's very sturdy. I've only started using this cord, but don't anticipate changing this highly favorable review, I'm sold! And this cord will work on my ancient Kindle, too, so I'm doubly happy.
