There's no question the materials, engineering, design, and manufacturing are all excellent. But the point of such an item is speed and flexibility. And I've found that while it's very quick to remove, it takes a little more time and finesse to get it back on properly, and this to the point where I've wondered if I couldn't remove and replace a standard attachment with allen wrenches close to as quickly with a more consistent result every time. I'm not fully decided on this, but the question is in my mind. Of course, one advantage of this device is not having to carry around tools to remove and replace it. One downside is the level you use to open and close it is fairly long--and it should be. It would be far harder to use if it weren't. BUT, there are times when it gets in the way. For example, I tried using this near the back of an AR for a 45 degree red dot and it got too close to my charging handle and interfered with its operation. It wouldn't have been a problem except I had limited space already because I was running a scope on it as well. I wish the level pointed forward instead of backward when clamped. I am surprised by how well is clamps down though, with no apparent motion or wobble at all. That's quite a feat for a design like this. It's a great product and I'm glad I own it. But it's not for every use a standard allen-wrench picatinny is.

These are quality mounts for most standard setups. It attaches tightly and doesn't move. It makes an easy mount for lights or lasers without getting in the way.

I got this speculatively, not having a specific purpose for it, but just to add another option. Monstrum makes awesome mounts and fittings and I will add them to my quiver any chance. Right after getting it, I used it to mount a light/laser combo so that it did not block the sight-line of an optic. Since mounting, it has been absolutely unmovable and secure.It lost a star because the over-center aspect of the QD fitting seems a little off than the usual. It is VERY sensitive to the depth adjustment. The difference between a nit too loose and too tight is well less than a 1/4 turn. This is made worse by the fact that the adjustment screw is underneath, requiring complete de-mating of the mount. Somehow, the removal moves the adjuster. So, it is rather a series of random tries and praying that get you to the right setting. Big deal? No. But I would not count on popping this QD mount on and off and have it re-snug.

I don’t generally write product reviews, felt that this product was so bad, I had to. I would’ve given it a one star, but that is usually reserved for defective products. Let me be clear, this was not a defective product, it was just poorly made. how in the world did it receive so many positive reviews?I would never even think about putting this on a firearm. The tightening mechanism was poor, but even when tightened correctly, the product was not well secured. I would never dream of putting this on a firearm that I depended on.
