I got this kit for Christmas. (Includes the cage, lamps and flex extension arms). This is my first underwater rig and I think it is good value for my intro to diving photography. The aluminum cage looks high quality and finish. All the threaded holes are well finished. I think an improvement for the lamps is upgrade to a USB-C charge port. And the charge port is somewhat awkward being located on the inside hinge side of the battery door. It would be easier to plug in charge cord on the open side of battery door.Update 9/15/24: customer service great with warranty issue. Replaced one of the lights that failed because charge port came loose and could not charge

The aluminum rig is excellent. The lights are only just OK. There really isn't anything wrong with the lights, but in order for them to be effective, you cannot underestimate the sheer intensity required. To get good lights, you have to pay good money. At 100ft, the light diffuses so fast that these are not useful for much beyond closeup, macro photography.

This unit is well made. The main part is aluminum with rubber side grips. Should hold up to fresh and salt water diving. The 2 x 700 lumen lights combine for a decent amount of brightness. The lights have a hinged, sealed rear covering the USB connections. Rated for max recreational depths, should be enough for most. Paired with the red and magenta filters, this should give good underwater color correction. You can connect the lights either directly to the aluminum handle or add the adjustable goosenecks for additional separation. The goosenecks are a bit stiff but hold well once you get it positioned as you like. The mounts screw into the handle and an adapter that the lights slide into. I noticed they can come loose if things are bumped wrong, so make sure you properly tighten things. The goosenecks give you more refraction angle for the lighting, so you are better lighting your subject without getting light bouncing back into the camera lens. This is especially helpful with night/deep diving or when you have a lot little objects (plankton and other micro life).Includes a wrist strap to keep from losing it as well as various camera mounts. I tested with my gopro 10 black. It also fits my larger 84 led dive light with the gopro attached to the top.Only 2 minor complaints.1. the screw that the camera connects to spins freely, you need to secure it while screwing in the camera mount to fully secure it (or your camera may move side to side. Would be useful to have something included to tighten it. This is very minor as you can use a coin or flat head screwdriver.2. It would also be nice if it included a carrying case. The package it was shipped in holds everything well, but being cardboard and foam isn't great for watersports. With various filters and connectors, there is a lot that can get lost.Overall, this is a nice rig for improving your underwater videos.

The plastic light mount broke on my first dive and I lost one light. Frame is solid but the plastic accessories are cheap

I am missing the fittings for the ball stacks, making them useless

This is such a versatile light kit, can be used in so many ways. The whole thing is easy to put together and sturdy and solid feeling. Very well made.The lights are each very bright with three modes. Bright, lower "power saving" and flash. If I could change one thing it might be to make the brightness more variable but that's a little thing. They hold up under the water and they float when not mounted. They can be mounted on the flexible extension arms or directly on the rig cold shoe. I'm using with a GoPro 10 and it mounts easily and securely.The flex arms are stiff enough to stay put, flexible enough to be able to adjust them. I imagine they'll looser with time and use.The overall weight is decent. Enough heft I won't be fighting to keep in submerged but shouldn't be too heavy under water. There's a wrist strap to help keep it secure. I may figure out something to tether to my waist as well since I'm kind of clumsy sometimes.I have a trip to Europe next month that involves snorkeling. I think to save baggage space and weight I'll take the handle, but just one light and one flex arm. That's how versatile this is, I can configure it as I need.I'm really pleased with this kit!

The actual handle itself is very sturdy, positioning is good on everything. Very easy to adjust the arms to get good angles for the lights. My only problem is the mounting for the lights. It barely snaps in and with little pressure will release the light off the arm or handle (where ever you attach to). I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but I’m always worried in a current and make sure to position it into the current so the lights don’t get carried away.
