WETOWN 200 Watt Solar Panels Portable 20V for Solar Generator Power Station Foldable Solar Panel Kit with MC-4 + XT60 Output Waterproof IP67 for Camping Off-Grid

These solar panels are obviously intended to be used with a power bank, but with its additional USB ports, they can be used on their own. I don’t have a power bank, so I tested this by hooking my phone up to it. It immediately started charging.These panels are heavier than they look, but the bag that comes with them allows for fairly easy transport.I also had an accidental durability test; I set these up on my back patio, then ran inside to get my phone’s charging cable, only to find my 70lb dog walking on the panels. There was no visible damage, so they’re fairly sturdy.

I like the attached kickstands, these large panels are cumbersome for a single person to setup. The variety of outputs on this panel are a plus for use with or without a power station. The panels eyelets provide more options for positioning the panel for best exposure and the snaps help keep it folded while carrying. The kickstands do limit the positioning somewhat but not an issue. The carrying case could use a separate zippered pocket for cords and adapters.I’m using this panel with a GooLoo GTX300 power station with an Anderson adapter. So far I’ve observed an output of 110 watts with the best positioning I could attain on a clear day, I did expect more and I think it should have done better considering it’s 200 watt rating.

The design of the Wetown SP200W portable 200W solar panel is unique in my experience. It is constructed of a hard plastic sandwich material that contains the solar cells. The four cells making up this portable panel hinge by means of the flexibility of the hard plastic. There is no additional backing or framing material. It is a very simple structure. It is housed in a lightly padded well constructed bag that zips open at the top and the zipper runs about halfway down either side creating a padded envelope to protect and carry the panels when folded up. The carry bag has no additional storage pockets and is completely removed for panel use.The panels, when removed from the bag, are heavy and difficult to maneuver due to the lack of any handles on the panels. Two snaps release the panels from the folded position. Behind the four panels are three legs that prop the panels up at a good angle. The legs secure with snaps when not being used.The SP200W outputs electrical power via traditional MC4 connectors. But in addition, there is an additional box that contains an XT60 male connector, two USB type-A QC3.0 ports and a USB type-C 60W port. This provides amazing flexibility for charging personal electronics without the need for a solar charge controller or portable power station. It is non-standard to use a male XT60 connector to provide panel power - female connectors are normally used to protect against inadvertent short circuits. I believe that this was done so that a normal male to female XT60 jumper cable can be used to connect to a portable power station in order to charge it's battery. A 59 inch (1.5M) XT60 male to female connector is provided with this kit.The close-up picture of my ECOFLOW River 2 power station shows the charging input using the XT60 power cord from the partially shaded panels in the preceding picture. 73W is a good charge with the shading of the panels at that time.I wish that the manufacturer had cut to handle openings in the panel on either side of the MC4 cable box to ease handling of the panels while removing/replacing the panels from/to the case and for positioning them before opening the panels.The Amazon promotional text states: "IP67 Solar Panel Charger Kit: ETFE Laminated Solar Panel IP67 Waterproof & Dustproof will protect from water splashing." The user manual states: "Is it waterproof? In order to maximize the lifespan of the solar panel, please try not to get it wet or soak the solar panel into water." No portable panel is designed to be left exposed to the elements permanently as rigid solar panels are. And solar panels don't work well in rainy conditions. So be careful about this.My last criticism is that the carry bag provides excellent protection, but only partially unzips requiring that the folded panels be inserted into the envelope of the bag and slide in fully before zipping up. Full side zippered openings would allow the bag to be laid open and the panel set on top. The bag could then be folded over the panels and zipped up securely. Doe that sound nit-picky? These panels are heavy and awkward to handle without any grips on the panels. Judge for yourself. A deal-breaker? Of course not, but it is an easy fix to make a good product better. Handholds on the panels when folded and slightly longer zippers. Enough said.This is a great portable solar panel pack. It looks like it will hold up well in regular use. I have not tested it in full sun conditions yet, but achieving 73 watts while charging in my partially shaded northern PA location in December speaks well for the capabilities of this product.

Great set of 200 watt solar panels that come with a separate carrying/storage bag that offers protection. Well made and they work great for charging my portable solar generator. Very pleased with the quality, power output and ease of moving them around and transporting. They came with a set of "Y" cables to parallel them with another set of panels if needed. These di not disappoint.

Under full sun, this panel puts out lots of power. It was able to charge my imuto power cube to 60% in about 3.5 hours. The cube is 9600 mAh power bank. Setting up the solar panels is easy. You just have to keep up with the movement of the throughout the day. Takedown of the panels is just as easy as the set up. These panels come with a nice storage and carrying case.
