Meridian Smooth Almond Butter, 1kg

Me and my family are in love with this stuff and between us go through a tub a month! It's super yummy and highly addictive on toast or rye bread with bananas! We also use it for baking, on crackers and in smoothies. It's creamy, delicious and only has one ingredient - almonds - unlike some other brands that add sugar or salt. It's my go-to healthy snack for my 5 year old daughter who loves it on crackers with bananas when she comes home from school.When you first open it don't be freaked out by the oil on the surface - this is normal! Give it a really good stir with a knife to mix in the oil and make sure that the spread at the bottom is mixed in - otherwise it can go a bit hard at the end. I find that one really good mix when you first open, with the odd stir here and there does the job.Also the lids a bit flimsy, so I always wrap it up in a plastic bag if I'm travelling anywhere with it. Not a reason not to buy it though, the taste and texture well make up for it! :-)

I enjoy this roasted almond flavour, although I made my own homemade Raw Almond nut butter (soak almonds over night then remove water and blend with sunflower oil), and the flavour achieved is like very almondy like Marzipan, which I felt was missing from this product (my own expectations), although combined with some of my homemade nut butter and the perfect combination of roasted and that true almond flavour. After a good stir on opening, this in a Moreish and delicious product, which I put in smoothies and also bought for some vegan cookie recipes.I wonder whether Meridian would consider making raw nut butters for the more familiar flavour. Plus...I would prefer glass containers to be more in-keeping with being eco-friendly. Product chosen also because it is Organic and just one ingredient. Overall great product.At £1.49 cheaper I came across Zeina Almond Nut butter, which does not taste as roasted as this. It does taste like almonds and is much thicker and sweeter (also 100% nuts recipe). Almost reminds me of shortbread favour/texture once masticated. I enjoy them both in different ways. Will certainly buy Meridian Almond butter again.

My partner loves this stuff! We don't buy any other brand unless we really have to as this one is all natural, most tasty and the best for your health! Not quite as good as the peanut butter as this one is a little more bitter and drier but compared to other almond butters- this one is the best we have found!Top Tip- always mix this before using to avoid dry patches at the bottom. The oil naturally separates which can put people off but this is actually a good quality sign.Highly recommend.

This is heaven for those of us who love nuts. I bought this thinking I would tryb something different and nut butters seem to be all the health rage at the moment, plus some of my amoothie recipes suggest using almond nut butter for a protein hit. I am pleased to say the product is delicious. I have so far used it in smoothies and spread on crackers for a tasty little energy hit and it really is lovely and nutty and creamy, bit with a bit of grittyness that I actually like. I haven't tried other brands yet, but realy like this one. Only slight niggle is the 1kg pot from Amazon (cheaper than buying direct or from stores) is a bit flimsy. Mine arrived with the top just popped and a very slight leakage - I decided to keep it anyway as it was wrapped in bubble wrap so nothing leaked outside this. Sadly this means I will have to eat it now within 3 months.... A real hardship that ;-)

Meridian Smooth Almond Butter is delicious and very good value for money. In order not to eat the whole tub in one go, I have created a fat bomb recipe to slow me down! Fat bombs are a great help when following a low carb/high fat diet. This recipe produces freezer type chocolates that are delicious and easy to make and which are stored in the freezer. I keep mine in screw top plastic jars which I call “sweetie jars”.Here is my recipe.Melt together over hot water:75gms coconut oil60gms butter100gms Meridian Smooth Almond ButterAdd and thoroughly mix in:3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powderSweetener to taste (I use about 3 tsps powdered erythritol and 6 drops of stevia)Pour into silicon moulds and place into freezer until solid then put into plastic jars or sealable bags. Keep in the freezer.

Great value bulk purchase of a super tasty, healthy nut butter. Meridian is typically one of the best producers of no-added nasties health foods, and this is no exception - you're getting almond butter, pure and simple, with no extra sugar, preservatives and such like.The blend is REALLY smooth and delicious, and (to be honest) fairly addictive. I've switched to almond butter from peanut butter recently, to get the slightly higher protein / healthy fats kick. Try it spread on plain rice cakes - it tastes so indulgent that you could forget it's so much healthier than snacking on over-sugared confectionery.A big winner from Meridian - we will easily get through a 1kg tub each month in our house!

Lovely product when it arrives in one piece but when the pot arrives open and contents has spilt over everything in the box its not good!So be warned of bad packing as gooey mess everywhere is not a good look.

Good when a recipe calls for peanut butter. Good on crisp bread. As part of a sandwich. Needs stirring which is good, shows it hasn’t got stabilisers
