These are great for use , however each one had some deep scratches on them. I bought a couple and scratches were very obvious on both . The purpose they are intended for (holding salt/pepper/spices) are otherwise good. Cosmetic flaw.

This is a great product if you are looking for something besides a regular salt shaker. I discovered salt cellars as a way to get our sea salt needs met. We have a family of six, and we had two top brand salt grinders break, (not from this company) so we decided to use a salt cellar for table use as well, since we use a two tiered one for cooking. We have not used this salt cellar yet, as it just arrived this evening. I hand washed them, and posted pictures for sizing. We ordered both the large, and small. Large holds 3/4 cup, but I put in a little less due to the fact my young children will be using this. Small holds 1/4 cup, again I did not fill it full. I used large for sea salt, because we use it frequently, the small is for a spice my kids love on tomatoes.I like the spoon option. The salt cellar I use for cooking does not have a spoon, just a slide top to grab a pinch of salt. This salt cellar is great because kids can be messy, and the lids, and spoon are easy to clean, and young food covered fingers will not get in the salt directly.

You won't be disappointed, just beautiful. I'm using the large for parmesan cheese, and just ordered two small for salt and pepper. Not only lovely, but they are heavy and solid.

This is an excellent salt cellar, lid fits well and doesn't rattle, the spoon is mildly useful. Overall very well made.The larger one is far better for the kitchen. The small one was a bit of a disappointment--it's too dainty for cooking. I now use it at the table to present the finishing salt in.

I really liked the design and it feels expensive. Bought for a friend who likes modern design.
