Perfect Power Solution for Your Raspberry Pi Project

This compact UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) module keeps your Pi running smoothly, even during power outages or when you’re working on the go.Installation is straightforward, and the module fits seamlessly with Raspberry Pi, providing a stable power source without the need for bulky adapters. The 1200 mAh battery offers great runtime, ensuring that your Pi stays powered up for hours, even when disconnected from the mains. It’s also incredibly easy to monitor the battery level, so you’ll always know when it’s time to recharge. What sets this power module apart is its versatility and portability. Whether you’re using your Pi for a portable project or just want to keep it running without an external power source, the PiSugar 3 is perfect. Plus, it’s small enough that it won’t add any significant bulk to your setup, making it ideal for compact builds like Pwnagotchi.

Prevents power outages from affecting system

Simple management interface.I used this to maintain power to a Pi Zero - which is prone to SD card corruption if the power is disconnected.

Pins were not properly aligned. Fried two separate Raspberry Pi Zeros and a Waveshare screen.

So it took me a while of fighting with the PiSugar3 to finally get it to line up just enough to power on the Pi Zero 2w. This was after I had repeatedly tried to get it working by screwing it to the Pi with the supplied screws. The pins are about 1mm out of alignment on my battery board, because the only way to get it to continue supplying power to the Pi was to hold it slightly off of alignment as I screwed everything together. Doing that was a major pain because if I let up on my pressure even slightly it would slip out of alignment due to the screws trying to straighten the boards out. Unfortunately, it still is not aligned 100% because the PiSugar software doesn’t even detect the battery. The Pi is running entirely off of the battery but does not see it connected.Follow up:So after I tried forever trying to the get data pins working, the Pi stopped powering on. Returned it and got a replacement. Went through the same process again but didn’t waste any time fighting with getting the data pins working. I just wanted to actually get this up and running. Well, after I got all the software installed I shut it down to install the Waveshare screen that previously worked. It wouldn’t recognize. So I tried reseating the pins again since they are seemingly the entire problem. Still could not get the Waveshare screen to recognize. Then, just like before the Pi stopped powering on at all.So lesson learned. PiSugar produces low quality products because this one PiSugar3 has killed two Raspberry Pi Zeros and a Waveshare screen now. Going to get a full refund.

Superb design, feature-complete

I've been using pisugars with raspberry pi zeros for a while now, but this is the first time I used the 3. They really have all the kinks worked out. I put a pi in my surfboard with sonar, gps, and a e-ink display. The pisugar allows me to charge the surfboard wirelessly and makes it possible to turn things on and off exactly how I want (via wifi, on a schedule, when charger is nearby, etc.) It integrates so well with the other electronics and I love that their code and schematics are open source. Just can't say enough good things about this product.

Not what I expected. But still good

This module is I guess designed only to deploy the device headless . If you install the module from my experience and then plug in keyboard and mouse the pi faults for low power. This by the way is with the battery fully charged on idle with he stock battery I did manage to get 3.69 hours of standby idle time ... I then removed the pack that came with it and supplimented a larger battery to achieve 8 days idle uptime so far. But no matter the size of the battery it doesn't provide enough current for most shields. Tried with several zeros same results. For the money it's an expensive solution to a cheap problem

The one to get for pi zero and battery indicator

Excellent. About 6hrs of UPS protection plus the pisugar server service indicates battery value.

Loved this for a year...until today...

i've had a PiSugar for quite a while - it's an excellent product overall, and the software, though a little clunky, does a good job. However, today, I opened up my Pi case and found a very swollen battery. Maybe a case with minimal ventilation isn't a good thing. Maybe 24/7 connection to a physical plug is also a problem. Either way, today htis battery is being removed and taken ofline. If I can find a simple 1200mah battery, I'll probably solder one on to replace this potential toxic bomb in the house.Recommend the board and platform, but not for long long durations of being plugged in. It's probably safe longer term if you power down and up only as needed.
