M-D Building Products 76281 4-9/16 in. x 1-1/8 in. x 73 in. Silver Adjustable Aluminum & Hardwood Threshold

Being an experienced carpenter, I repair doors. Mostly french doors, because no one else in town understands the level of accuracy it takes to set up and adjust a pair of doors. I replace a lot of thresholds and door sweeps and even replace door bottom rails. I have noticed over the past few years that the quality of door parts have been getting poorer and poorer. Well I can't stand no more. Of three MD thresholds that arrived from Amazon, not one was ready to install without disassembly and refitting. Especially bad is the worse than Grade 2 yellow pine filler that is used as the base for the aluminum threshold. Plenty of knots and warped, this unculled garbage should never have made it to the shaper at the factory much less been accepted by the "sighted"assembler. Even a blind man could feel how bad these pieces are. And yet quality control sent these units to packaging and then they make it to me missing some of the adjustment hardware. Thanks for all you do to make this "Made in America" product so very special. You guys need to work at a land fill.

The price was good however for a couple of dollars more they should use pressure treated lumber on the underside that sits directly on the concrete. The pine and will likely rot over time.

Ordered this new sill for my french door since the plastic sill cracked and I could not order another from the company. Sill works fine but the oak adjustable wood part was cracked. You could not tell until you installed. I installed it anyways since I already removed the other sill. The weather is now cold so I will have to remove and replace once the weather is warm again or we get lucky and have another 65 degree day this winter. Works fine except for crack in the wood.

Could be a very nice product, but like many others I didn't receive the bolts needed to adjust the sill.Update: Sent an e-mail to info@mdteam.com about missing hardware and they responded and said they will send missing screws in the mail!

I'm convinced this item was a factory reject/second. It arrived with a year in the plastic wrap and had minor damage as there was a small dent in the aluminum threshold. The wooden support that attaches to the floor was cut about 5/8" shorter than the aluminum threshold. One of the adjuster screws was missing, and it had no screw caps with it. Had I not been under a time crunch to install the French doors and if it was exposed to the elements, I would have returned it and found an alternative. Order at your own risk.

The screws that come with it aren't really good for anything. I used my own screws but was happy with the overall installation and appearance
