Major overlooked flaw present across all product lines.

This embedded device does not recover and resume gracefully from slideshow mode after power loss. Once the power is cut the unit defaults to the main title screen prompting the user to make a mode selection. This will eventually happen and you will need to manually intervene to get this working again. The main purpose of a digital photo frame is to display photos in some form of slideshow once configured without the need for user interaction.Customer support confirms that this is default behaviour across all product lines. How does this pass quality assurance? I have no clue.Perhaps you’re the type of person who enjoys providing tech support to your 84 year old Grandmother Beatrice who will be calling you asking why your gift isn’t working anymore. Doubly worse if you happen to wall mount this with the provided hardware. There is no easy way to determine if a digital photo frame resumes operation properly on a power cut unless you actually test it. I know my previous frame exhibited no such issues.Returned. Look elsewhere.

The sensor is a must have features, picture quality is spot on for the size, video require some love

I have to say this is a very good product, reason below:Construction: It looks like a photo frame not like a tablet with a stand, really that sort of model are bad and look bad besides making little sense. Material feel premium and the item is light, so no problem using some of those 3M non destructive tape hooks. The bit behind to balance it swivels and can be adjusted in height slightly so you can place it pretty much as you want it to be, landscape or vertical.Screen: Now, let's put something clear as non tech savvy seem to buy into marketing (probably that's why Apple still alive and mobile phones cost as much as when the first ever model came out 30 years ago, instead of pennies). The resolution has to match the size of the screen, i.e. if you have a 4k phone for example it is pointless, unless you really put your face in it (literally) you would see zero difference as the monitor is too small and pixel per inch are overkill. - Same here, the resolution is adequate for the size and also allow for less power consumption and heat, for me it is really really good for the scope of what a digital photo frame is meant to do.Video: Here is what I did not like, fine you have to have video 720p, however unless you record them for the frame no one records in 720p - the frame could have had a downscaler instead it just won't display the video which is silly. Simple fix download "Any Video Converter" is totally free and easy to use, drag and drop your file and change the resolution to 720p one and convert it, now your frame will read it happily, free and does not require a particularly powerful PC.Sensor: undoubtedly a must have, fact is these things take power and you do not want it to be on 24/7, also light may annoy someone depending on time, the sensor is a great feature as otherwise you may end up not even using it at all. Now you can keep this thing on, set your ON / OFF timer and set the sensor to ON, the frame will activate automatically when detecting movement if within the timeframe you programmed (if you wish), of course how long stays on etc... is is up to you. For me this and the design is what really sold it.I bought one years ago for my mum and these things costed nothing, now they cost twice as much but hey among all the one I saw this was a very good gift for my partner.

Very good product, really pleased with it

I'm loving this digital photo frame. I've not had one before, and didn't know what to expect but it's great. I did buy the Nix product that is £10 cheaper, and before that another brand that was £20 cheaper, but returned both as this one is considerably better and well worth the extra cost. Why? The design is good. it's not too deep (stuff sticking out the back), it is discreet and doesn't look digital, more like a normal photo frame. Most of all, the matt screen means the photos look like printed photos. The others had shiny screens which reflected lights, and just looked a bit too much like electric devices. This is discreet, and in daylight it's hard to tell it's a digital frame. At night you can adjust the light so it doesn't flood the whole room - the cheapest one was way too bright. The remote (which I thought would be pointless) is actually very good, and sticks on the back with a magnet so you don't lose it. It's very easy to use, quickly set up. Features I like: timer so it turns on when i come to my desk in the morning, and off when I stop using the room at night. Sensor so it shuts down when you're out of the room, and comes back on when you return. It would make a great present, along with a USB stick of photos, and allows me to have hundreds of photos throughout the day with just one frame. Bought two, and will buy more.

Okay For A While

Initially I was reasonably happy with this product. There were a couple of issues setting up. We had to format the SD card so the frame could recognise the photos and I had an issue with the timer which customer services assisted with.Approximately 6 months ago, an issue occurred whereby the screen started to pixelate and distort the image into flashing waves. Turning the device off and on again seemed to rectify this, however this has started to occur more often. To the point that now, the screen will not display a clear undistorted image. This is pretty much two years to the day of purchasing and the device is now unusable. My previous Sony digital photo frame lasted almost ten years, so to only get two years out of this device, I’m quite disappointed.
