I remember the days when computer software was delivered on CD, then DVD... Because SSD was in its infancy, the only choice for backup was optical media. Eventually, software became downloadable and with inexpensive SSD, computer manufacturers began dropping the ubiquitous optical drives (making laptops significantly thinner and lighter).I am still an adherent of optical media backup because the data can't be corrupted by a stray magnetic field (though, even optical media degrades eventually). This drive is a plug-and-play superstar as it installs easily and ... just ... works.My only complaint is that the USB connector is very short (6") which severely limits its positioning -- particularly on a crowded desk. But the drive is thin and light enough to slip into a laptop bag pocket.Excellent product.

Immediately recognized the unit as soon as connected. Worked fine with my burning program. Had to return a different unit that would not work with Windows 11.

Bought this to burn some CDs on my Windows 11 computer to work in a traditional cd player. It worked pretty well but sometimes I get an error, but I just try it again and then it works.Pros:-Portable-Compact-Simple interfaceCons:-Durability. It's flimsy and feels as if it will break after a while of use, some reviews here have said it doesn't last more than a couple months, but I only need it for one project so I will never know.-Errors. My computer has issues with it that I was able to get around pretty easily but still, no errors should be present.

Updated review – I have changed my review to three stars because although the product stopped working, the company did right by refunding my money. The product did work great until it didn’t and I hope that mine was only a defective product and most of you don’t have the same problem. I was very impressed with the customer service And the ease of solving my problem. Would buy from the seller again.… if I liked everything about this DVD player in the beginning. I am a teacher and use it sometimes in my lessons. This worked fine the first couple times I used it, and then it randomly stopped working. It won't even turn on now and I bought it less than one year ago.I have tried to contact the seller, and will update this review when I hear back from them.
