Haven't spent a lot of time with this yet as I just received it today. However, within 15 minutes of plugging in I was able to get a great tone. I would be willing to say there's a lot af great tones to be had with this one. I played two different SSS Strats through it, one with Fender Hot singles, and one with stock Squire Vibe coils. Both sounded great. I then plugged in my Les Paul with Gibson Burst buckers and only needed to tweak the tone and voice a little as it was slightly dark and muddy with the settings I had for the Strats. Only took a minute to get it back to that sweet spot. I don't have any other "Dumble" type, or low gain pedals to compare it to, but I can't imagine one being any better for my taste. Well worth the money.

If you are after the creamy Hendrix studio album version sound of "Wind Cries Mary", this pedal will get you pretty close (at least with a tube amp). IMO, this is a pedal for maximum blues on clean.Overall sound: creamy, thick, with a variable mid voice that goes from dark to bright.OD channel on amp: Even with very little gain, this will add thick mid-rangy boost.This is more heavy handed than a Tube Screamer. It's wonderfully subtle with the gain 7:00 and 8:00. With the voicing and tone turned to the high side, it is bright and clear.The Stax Dumbler is pretty much the same as the other <$35 Dumbler pedals, and I picked this particular one for the graphics. It looks good on a pedal board. It sounds great. I have no idea how close it comes to expensive Dumble pedals, but I like the sounds I'm getting out of it.It also works spectacularly with a little Black Rat feeding it, responding like an amp.If I didn't know it was a <$35 pedal, I wouldn't know it was a <$35.

Nice small pedal perfect for small/ cluttered boards. The chorus effect does the trick however, I have to turn level and rate dials all the way up in order for the effect to be heard when in chain with my other pedals. Not the strongest pedal, as it’s easily overshadowed by my other pedals, but is a great budget option when compared to name brand pedals. I like how basic the controls are as I don't need anything fancy. Overall nice pedal

Bough this after seeing very good reviews and video demos online. Sure enought, I too am extremely happy with the pedal which I use with a Fender electric mandolin. There are no unwanted hums or noises (the problem with the Boss blues OD pedal it replaced)- just many available authentic-sounding overdrive effects that are good for genuine blues and rock distortion. It definitely can be used as a 'clean boost' pedal - or with just a very light overdrive edge- with very good results. Designed superbly. Looks fantastic on my pedal board and thr price is great too. This pedal is all the more reason I'm a big fan of this market of small-sized superb value-priced pedals. I see and hear no reason to pay much more for an overdrive pedal or any pedal. I still need and will keep using 2 other OD pedals that have other characteristics (I mention this to point out that it may not cover the full-range of OD sounds you might want- but to me, this 100% ok and to be expected- not a flaw. Your opinion may vary as pedal sounds are very much a user taste/opinion thing.)

It tunes as bout as well as you’d expect for a $20 tuner, but the bypass hums a little.

Great blues Overdrive

Killer pedal for the price! Stacked with a Dualist it smokes!

It comes on and light up but doesn’t tune a guitar correctly. Not for sure if it was a defective product but the one I received was not working correctly.
