It's a nice little digital multimeter, supplied with decent quality test leads and a fairly frugal protective case (made of plastic, not rubber like the professional models). The display is large and clear, with an optional backlight that's easy to switch on but not possible to switch off without turning the whole meter off via the rotary knob.I have no way of checking the accuracy of its readings, but I'm not after ultra-precise measurements anyway; usually just an indication is enough.The achilles' heel of this meter, however, is the poorly-designed battery compartment and connector. It takes a 9 volt battery, which is one of the reasons I bought it (my previous meter took an exotic 12 volt battery that was very expensive to replace). However, the battery only just fits in the compartment, the connector (that plugs into the end of the 9v battery) has only just enough wire to get the battery connected, and one of the wires broke off from the connector as I tried to push the battery back into the tiny compartment. I was able to solder the wire back onto the connector rear terminal (although this required the plastic sleeving to be removed from the battery connector) and it now works fine. Still... a stupid design flaw. In future I will be taking the back cover off completely before changing the battery - that gives slightly more room for manoeuvre.

I don't do a lot of testing so didn't want to spend a fortune. This one seemed to fit the bill. I really needed something to test batteries and circuit continuity. This does the job. No problems in use and I like that it has a backlight which can be turned on if needed. In built stand is also very useful allowing the display to be easily read. Happy with my purchase.

Works great, easy to use and has a good range of features. Pretty accurate (voltage to within +/- 0.03V in my experience) and is ergonomic to hold, the stand is a little flimsy and the battery cover a pain to get off, but it’s functional and useful to have around.

Readability is good with the back light feature. Cheap quality plastic. Has a beeper for continuity. Value for money is great.

This is a generic cheap multimeter, with all the functions you'd expect from a cheap multimeter, along with some would-be-nice features like a backlight, a beeper, a kickstand and a hold button. Most meters you'd get at this price will be missing one or more of these, but this one has them all together. The plastic jacket it comes in probably won't protect it if you drop it, but it looks nice and gives a good grip.The probes are rubbish, probably not unsafe, but just cheap and flimsy with short annoying wires. Go buy some decent probes from a reputable manufacturer, they'll last forever.The standard precautions for a cheap multimeter apply: don't exceed the ratings, particularly if you're measuring current, don't use the current terminal for anything else, make sure the dial's not 180° out before measuring the mains, that sort of thing. It's perfectly safe, just don't expect it to survive any form of misuse: there's the odd non-resettable fuse inside but they're just there to try to prevent a fire or explosion if you dead-short something.
