Blu-ray is Outstanding!!
The Jetsons on Blu-ray will blow you away! I compared the blu-ray to my old original 2004 dvds and the colors really pop on the blu-ray. The blu-ray comes with 3 discs featuring all 24 episodes of the first season (original series) and all of the special features from the 2004 dvd release. The sound quality is much better than the dvd releases which is always a plus. I don't need to crank my volume up on the tv just to hear at a normal level. The colors and visual quality of the blu-ray is what stands out the most. The colors and lines of characters and objects really draw you in. The Warner Archive also did an excellent job at keeping the film elements feeling natural while cleaning them up for visuals. The specks and pop that make you feel the true age and originality of the film are still there while the dirt is gone allowing the colors to be seen as originally intended. My favorite piece that was included in this release and only available on blu-ray is the bumpers. By bumpers I mean the commercials and commercial intros (ex. The Jetsons brought to you by...). There are 3 specific bumpers included: Scotch Tape, Colgate Toothpaste, and Saran Wrap. These bumpers are a nice jump to the past and make you feel like you're watching it on tv back in the 1960s.Overall this set is well worth the price and the support of the Warner Archive. Seeing The Jetsons with the colors and visuals as originally designed gives you a better feel for the futuristic look that Hanna Barbera intended. The bumpers, the extras, the colors, make this an all around excellent purchase!

Henry! Wait till Janie sees this!
When I want, where I want. Looks great on a modern 65". A living room full of Jetson's color is a beautiful thing.

The future was fantastic
24 bright, colorful, razor-sharp episodes that highlight every production technique (both good and bad).I never knew The Jetsons (and probably all Hanna-Barbera productions) used an animation technique similar to, and probably less sophisticated than, South Park Studios uses today. Most scenes are a sandwich of painted cells containing a motionless background, motionless body or torso, and minimally animated head and arms. About the only thing that actually changes from frame to frame is the mouth movements. There is evidence that only a few standard character angles were drawn and the component cells very carefully indexed for reuse whenever possible. In one episode, George's beard shadow changes color throughout his speech as cells from a different episode using a slightly different paint color were mixed and matched to synchronize the dialog.Contrivances as moving sidewalks, rolling chairs, and antigravity belts are used to minimize the number of cells needed to be drawn and painted. Some of the backgrounds are shockingly crude, solid neutral colors, or simple pastel sketches with minimal detail. And still, every minute of the program is a delight to watch.I never knew, growing up in the 60s and 70s, that I was watching the same 24 episodes produced for a single broadcast run in 1962. The program wears well even after 57 years. It has no unlikeable characters, doesn't take itself seriously, and doesn't pretend to be something it's not.I was impressed with the episode The Good Little Scouts, about a camping trip to the moon, because the facts it relayed about the destination (distance, temperature, gravity, atmosphere) were all correct (238K miles, ±200° F, 1/6 G, airless). It wasn't an "educational" episode so much as that people in the early 1960s knew they'd be going to the moon in a few years, and were looking forward to the journey.I have rarely been as pleased with any Blu-Ray I've purchased.

Howdy Mr. Jetson!
I've seen the other reviews that mention this doesn't come with the later episodes, and they're right, however, it's not really a big deal. The originals were the ones I grew up with, and really...are you going to sit on the sofa and binge watch a bunch of cartoons....at your age? No, you'll pop it in, and do whatever else you do, and glance at it once in a while. These are great for bringing up memories of those days where you'd get up early on a Saturday morning so you wouldn't miss these classics. I loved this show when I was a kid, and it was definitely ahead of it's time. For the quality, it's Blu-Ray, so of course it's great - better than you've ever seen it on that old black and white TV in the 60's. It's a bit over-priced due to the number of episodes, but not really a deal-breaker. If you do decide on these, I think they're worth it for nothing more than nostalgia's sake, and that good feeling you got when you watched them years ago. They're good clean fun, and I think today's youth is going to miss out, because they can't take their eyes off their phones long enough to enjoy them.
