Has two jobs. Does those two jobs
This thing has two jobs: scan for codes, and reset the codes. It does both of those things. There's a youtube video that has a how to because the instructions are weak, but what it boils down to is this:- Put key in ignition and turn to the on position without starting the car- Plug this into the OBD port, wait for it to turn on and the screen to say FA- press enter. The first number or letter is the table, flip to that table in the instruction book.- press scroll, a new number will appear. Look that number up on the table you turned to in the book... that is the error code. Press scroll again and look up that code on the table. Do this until the screen displays -- (indicated that is all of the codes)- press enter or scroll to get back to the FA screen. This time press scroll. The screen should now read cA.- press enter to clear the existing codes. Once it is done, press enter to return to the start screen. You're done, take the car for a 15-20 minute drive to make sure the code doesn't come back

Worked Great - Easy to Use
Worked great on 1995 BMW 525i. Identified the right code and would not clear it until the issue was fixed. My mechanic told me that the issue was the passenger seat pressure mat within the seat was broken, but this tool identified that it was the passenger seat sensor module. Once I put the new sensor module in, bingo, the code erased and no more SRS light.

Not Successful Clearing Z4 SRS code
2003 BMW Z4 2.5 owner here. I wouldn't buy this again. I tried it to reset the SRS light. No luck. I bought a different scanner, the C410 it cleared the airbag code and had menus to clear other related codes like SSBL "Passenger Occupancy Sensor". I did that yesterday and the SRS light is still out. It still may require service, but I have more information.

Use the round adaptor!
While replacing my disintegrated seat bushings a few days ago (another cheap Amazon fix), I made the mistake of turning on the ignition of my 2002 Z3 while the drivers seat was removed from car . Caused the airbag light to come on and stay on even after the seat was reinstalled. I figured I’d give this device a try, since the my local BMW stealership wanted $189 just to diagnose a problem that I already knew the cause of. The Z3 has the OBDII port on the passenger side of the console. DON’T BE FOOLED - Don’t us that one! I kept getting the flashing “E” error no matter what I tried (the manual lists several things that could be cause it.) and after 45 minutes I was about to write a very different review about how this thing doesn’t work. It was only after reading some of the comments here that I looked under the hood and found the round port next to the engine. I plugged in the device there using the included adaptor, didn’t get any flashing “E”, saw the codes and cleared the problem in about 2 minutes. My airbag light is out! Great product, once you connect it in the right place!

This worked fine for me!
This did what I wanted it to do - reset the air bag light on my 1998 E36 M3. The light came on after having changed the steering wheel to try out a different wheel that had no airbag. After putting the factory wheel back on, I needed this tool to get the light to go out. For some reason it didn't work using the rectangular OBDII connector under the dash, but it did work with the circular connector under the hood, using the provided adapter cable. Great job for the price! It saved me having to pay more than that for a shop to do the same thing.

BMW E46 Let Me Save you some time (and money)
My airbag and seatbelt warning lights lit up on the dash of my 2002 325ci about a week ago, after checking a few obvious things I ordered this and waited 2 days for it to come. When I plugged it said FA but when I hit enter it only gave an E10 error, and wouldn't do anything else. When I tried cA for clear code it gave me an E11 error. I thought it was broken, I did troubleshooting for an hour and a half, but nothing 😡. Finally I checked the #11 slot 5Amp fuse (airbags), it was blown... I quickly replaced it with the #6 slot 5Amp fuse (Vanity Mirror Light), started up the car and airbag and seatbelt warning light went off... I was so happy... then I tried the scanner and it worked, no error codes. Then I drove to the store and bought a new 5Amp fuse and replaced the blown one in #6 slot. Moral of the story, check your fuse real quick, could save you time, money and frustration...

Good product but not user friendly
After spending a few minutes playing with device, connecting, disconnecting, turning vehicle on and off. Code eventually cleared. Reference book was pretty useless. I was getting just a Single 1 Code. Then got an E and A4 and that’s when air bag code cleaners led. I used on 1999 bmw 323i sedan E46.
