Works but....
It works if you really take your time and also add some silicone spray to help lubricate the rounds. You have to hold it at a perfect angle for it to work consistently. Once you figure all that out, it works just OK. Would be faster loading 15/22 mags by hand. Just my $.02

Hand loading is faster
this thing is cool up to the point you want the rounds to enter the mag. I find it easier to just hand load them.

Not just for M&P 15-22, with modifications.
First off the wax on the .22LR is going to bind up any loader. And using silicone or Teflon spray should help. I voided my warranty on this, because I modified it to work with Umarex magazines. I’ve got a H&K 416 22lr and those mags are slightly bigger than the M&P 15-22 mags. I was able to disassemble this loader and remove about a 1/4” of non-essential plastic, and my mags fit like a glove. You also need to create a window on one side for the slider on the mag. The metal lock even engages and I found that I needed to pull the magazine out about a 1/16 of an inch for the rounds to fall in correctly. Like another guy said, it does take a little practice to get it working. Flat with lid facing up and shake for rounds to fill the trench, then a quick flip vertical with mag down to stack the bullets in the tune. A slight pull on the Umarex mag to give a 1/16 inch gap. Then not a quite 45 degree angle with lid facing down and pulling down on the spider and bullets should start dropping in. Some slight bumping to help dropping.Caldwell did some great over engineering on this and it is well made!

P.O.S. Don't bother wasting your time or money
I'm an avid, long time shooter and WANTED to love this loader. I read the reviews and watched several videos on the product. I foolishly ignored the multiple poor reviews that warned against it and dropped about $25 anyway. I agree that its a great concept and its made of sturdy plastic construction. BUT its been a frustrating total waste of time. 22 ammo is notoriously fickle to begin with and this loader quickly became a tedious pain to unjam the misloaded rounds that hung up in the feed port and more importantly in the magazines! After attempting to load 5 S&W OEM mags, I gave up because each and every mag got plugged up by a misaligned round that required emptying and reloading the mag. Sure there's a 'proper technique' to using this loader but there's no way to effectively load rounds into a mag without constantly moderately tapping the assembly so the ammo drops into the mags and invariably one of them gets turned and hung up...See Photo. I've spent more time and effort tinkering with the loader trying fix jammed rounds than its worth. I cannot recommend this product even to the most experienced shooters.

Works very well considering the nature of a small .22 rounds.
This product works very well considering the nature of a small .22 rounds and the angle that they need to slide into the magazine. I have used other shake/sort mag loaders and none are perfect. All will have hang-ups of some kind with the .22 rounds. I knew this the first time I tried this loader. If you understand the concept of how these work, it will work well for the 15-22 magazines. All rimfire ammo will have some friction when sliding through a channel and into an angled magazine + all these works on the principle of gravity! Thankfully the 15-22 have a magazine guide to pull the spring-loaded mag well down.Attach the magazine to the loader, make sure it clicks in place and secured by the pin on the loader. Load your ammo, close the lid, hold it horizontally and shake to sort the rounds into the grooved sorter. Quickly tilt to vertical position. As you pull down on the magazine spring at a steady pace slightly tap the magazine bottom on your knee. One tap/second works for me. If your rounds still hang up slightly tilt the mag past vertical position. Do you need a video demonstration?

Not nearly as good as advertised
Not nearly as good as advertised cartridges jam in it tried with cci, winchester, and remington thunderbolts a little faster than loading individually but more headaches

Good idea, but needs work!
Design needs refinement! It needed Dremel work in the feed track to break the corners. It needed radius' instead of corners. Loaders are supposed to make loading easier, not create new problems!!

Absolutely a waste of money
This thing is a joke. Won't load rounds, when it does they're in the mag all wrong so take another 5 minutes to fix that. I can load 10 mags by hand before this loads one good mag..Useless. Save your money
