Cubetek Himedia Q5PRO, 4K HDR Media Player with USB 3.0, H.265V, 60fps, 10 Bit, 4.0 Bluetooth, Dual Band Wi-Fi, HDMI 2.0a, 7.1 DTS Master Audio Dolby Support

I was looking for some player to play all my 4k movies with HD audio formats like Dolby, DTS, Dolby True HD, DTS-HD-MA, DTS-X and Dolby Atmos pass through. On the Video Front, it supports, HDC, HDR10 and Dolby Vision with 16 bit deep color support. Finally this box plays absolutely everything. Just Make sure you are using HDMI 2.0 cable with 18gbps support. Finally my home theater setup is complete. It has USB 3.0 port which supports HDD upto 8 TB. Tried it with my 4 TB disk. Gigabit LAN post is also present but I seldom use it. Built-in Media Center does good job but it has some known bugs. Kodi is a very good option. There is also Kodi wrapper install. But i use standalone kodi app from play store. For my TV, there were quite a few settings which needs to be configured. Imprex engine used by media center is little too aggressive in processing Video adds lot of artifacts. I disabled it. Now much better image quality. I am sure it will be fixed with an OTA update. There is a support page in Kodi forums for Q5Pro and Q10 Pro. Supplied Remote is good but, The Mouse functionality is pathetic. Excellent Build Quality with metallic silver body. I am yet to push it to the limits but i am sure it won't let me down. Currently there are very very few options available in the indian markets which can passthrough all the HD audio and latest Video Formats. Himedia boxes like Q5Pro and Q10 Pro just does the job pretty well. A must have box if you have AVR setup. Highly Recommended.Updated on 20th July - Remote Control which came with the box is faulty ... its stops responding after few clicks ... Tried changing batteries ... Terrible ... Raised a replacement request. Fingers crossed !!updated on 22nd July - Received replacement today. Atleast Melody Media guys were prompt sending the replacement but when unboxing, I was disappointed to find a used power adaptor with scratches on it shipped with my new set. I received call from Melody Media explaining about it but when you pay this much of money for a premium product you do not expect such a quality of the product or services. Definitely not recommended.

Earlier I was using htpc for my home theatre. Problem with htpc is noise, and maintenance headache. This little machine take very little space, easily decode the 4k hdr contents and outputs in true 4k hdr. Picture quality of 4k hdr & sound is 90% of a dedicated 4k blu ray player(compared by playing bumblebee 4k uhd in sony 4k blu ray player & bumblebee 4k remux). But as we know nothing can replace a optical media.You can not build a dedicated 4k htpc in a budget of RS.14,000.00, so go for it without a second thought.

Awesum media player, superb pic & audio quality. Connected to yamaha Yht-3072 (5.1) & Lg 34"ultrawide monitor. Plays all audio formats without any issues...but kodi player fails to read a few BR rips (mt2s) of size 40 gb+....overall excellent product with many many features....a mini computerUpdate: best pic quality is got with the imprex engine turned off & with custom settings...Audio quality is pretty awesum!

This is third product from CUBETEK i have purchased and been a user for almost 3 years. Right from 1st generation on wards (1080p to 4k 60fps) common persistent problem or technical glitch is hanging in between. Below are pros and cons purely based on my personal usage and observationsPros :1. Plays almost all (Dolby to At mos, h264 to X265 UHD,-4K 60fps) with ease2 Very fast and rapid response for internet based apps3. User friendly compatible interface to handle4. HDR formats decoding is different for this playerCons :1.Clumsy remote operates at a very low pace2.Hangs in between if more than 2 apps are screened3.Struggles hard to read more than 2Tb hard disks.4. Sound levels low compared to my Panasonic Blu ray player with the same content played5.May not be good for Q LED/OLED TVs where HDR content prevails.Verdict:For 4K UHD TV this would be better option than Blu ray players

Just Wow! Yes.... I bought it because of it supports not only 4k HDR but also Major Audio Formats like DTS-X MA, Dolby True HD Atmos and it delivers like Charm. Superb Sound Quality Amazing Picture Quality.... Definitely Recommend for it's price range ... Delivery will Bit late but it's worth Waiting ... Kudos 😍👌👍Castingis not available please confirm. 😟

This is a great media player. Works well. I have not explored all the features yet. Don't know if it allows searching a file by name etc yet or ability to play subtitle (.srt files) etc.However, it plays everything that I've put on it and well. No issues at all yet.I'll update the review when I've explored more features.

This is the first Cubetek Product with which I am disappointed.This is an Industrial device, not a Plug and Play Consumer Electronics item for the General Public. It has umpteen features and a complex specification, with no USERS MANUAL. Without a Product Demo by the Seller’s Technician, it is not possible to use it. It has no Manual Controls; if the Remote fails, it has to be dumped in the Dustbin.

Currently available best 4k HDR media player with Dolby true hd and DTS hd playback. Played a few files, works fine. A file which was stuttering in kodi player using firetv stick works fine here. Could not get kodi player in this media player to output in 5.1 thru my Marantz AVR, but in-built player does 5.1 output well. Only con I can think of is the remote is IR and not bluetooth. Bit expensive but does the job well. Android version is 7, but using only for playing videos so I am satisfied.Update on 31/12/2020 :Tried playing Bluray iso file, works fine. We can set kodi to use the himedia player using wrapper settings under my apps
