I first heard about these from Sparky Channel on YouTube, there’s others who have their doubts but the concept seems sound. I had tried the Ideal connectors as I didn’t find WAGO at my big-box store, but they are not as good in my opinion.I ran into an electrical issue in a box on a circuit; it has an incoming hot cable, two other cables leading to several outlets in other rooms, and also two receptacles. So FIVE devices in one box. I’d found whoever wired it in the past did a bad hack job - I even found speaker wire! 🤦🏽‍♂️I pulled it all out, replaced one of the crumbling Bakelite receptacles, but when I put it back together some of the downstream outlets still weren’t working.I decided to just reorganize everything in the box, using 5-port Wagos to act as a “distributor”. One thing I did was I put the wires from the hot cable, into the port with the “Wago” marked on the lever. Then I’d always know which is the incoming hot just by looking.So much easier than using the conventional wire nuts; even the largest ones fit only a few wires. My hands cramp up and get painful when using the twist-type wire nuts, though I have found pliers sometimes help. Also if you twist these too much, the conductors can become stressed and even break. The Wago solves all of these.The other nice thing with the Wago is the wires can be easily removed if needed, without the need to cut or pull them out. The Ideal connectors require you to either cut or pull very hard on the wire to remove it. If you only have so much existing wire length to work with, cutting reduces the useful length even further, about a half inch at a time.Also while diagnosing a circuit (such as trying to figure out which cable goes to which outlets), the Wago makes this easier. You can put in just the hot and another cable, leave the others out, and then check which outlets are live. Then you can swap and repeat. And you can do this without having to undo the whole setup. (Obviously turning off the breaker in between each step!)

I really like these connectors. So much easier than traditional wire nuts. Especially if you need to undo wiring. Simply lift the tab and remove, no untwisting a group of wires just to remove one. They also take up less room in the electrical box.
